I was looking at this one here and was wondering if anyone was using it and what you thought? It will be going in a JR x9303 2.4 radio. What are some other good choices for longer run times?

Fits your 9303

Pro: its a lipo so will last awhile before needing to charge again

Cons: Don't forget to turn it off

Eneloop, Eneloop, and/or Eneloop.

All the advantages of LiPo, with none of the liabilities . . . .

Hyperion makes a LiFe pack for JR that fast charges, or you can use the old wall wart to charge. Can fly for days without recharging.

I still like Ni-MH since they are very predictible, well proven and I still have an Alpha 4 I trust religiously. I buy almost all my Ni-MH from batteriesamerica.com In fact, I just ordered a 4500ma 4 cell flat pack for my new Raptor 90 I'm building. I have had very good service from all of their batteries. My transmitter (Futaba 10CAPS) has their 2500ma 8 cell transmitter pack. I can fly all day. If your goal is to fly all weekend without charging you might have to go lithium.

Is there an Eneloop pack that is pre made for the transmitter? What will last longer the LiFe, LiPo or Eneloop NiMh or will it be the same if all are 2500mah??

In use the same capacity will give the same run time. When sitting idle, the NiMH will self discharge the fastest, with the Eneloop and Li technologies taking far longer, and all about the same.

The nicest thing about Eneloop is that you can charge in the TX with the normal TX charger (or whatever) and not have to worry about setting the TX on fire . . . .

I don't mind using the lipo and charge it just like any other of my packs and if charged correctly don't need to worry about a fire. Like said before the only downside to using a lipo is forgetting to turn your tx off.

In actual use, most people rarely use more than about half capacity on Nicads or NiMh because most people thinks it is about time to recharge when an 8 cell tx pack hits 9.6V. You'll never use anywhere near full capacity if you quit flying at that voltage.

Up until I got my DX8, I have used the Hyperion LiFe packs since they hit the streets. Fantastic flying time and quick recharging and LiFe's aren't near the fire risk of LiPos.

I had the Hyperion LiFe in my JR DSX9 and it puffed. Using Eneloop now. The LiFe would sit at 9.9v forever and I would end up charging anyway, just to be sure. So far the Eneloop has been working perfectly.

And being unable to charge with the pack in the radio . . . for me, that is a dealbreaker, and when coupled with the other total lack of advantage of LiPo, it's not a hard choice to go Eneloop . . .

My vote is for Eneloop as well. I like them better than Life and Lipo, hands down. The name "Eneloop" is a Sanyo only name. There are several other manufacture of the same type of battery. I purchased two four packs of 2700 mAh AA Eneloop type batteries. I took my old 1500Mah JR pack to the local BattriesPlus. They used the plug wire and end caps from my old battery and made me my new Eneloop pack. I went this route because BattiesPlus has a tab welder. I wanted a pack that had welded tabs rather than soldiered tabs.

This way I got all of the Eneloop benefits and a 2700mAh pack.

BTW, if you are searching for this Eneloop type battery, they are refered to as "LSD NiMH". Meaning Low Self Discharge NiMH.

Where did you get the 2700 mah ones and how much are they and also how much did it cost to have battery plus put the pack together for you?

I converted my 9303 to lipo a good while back.
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...idProduct=16529

Great battery. Even tho the battery lasts a really long time the downside is fairly major. I have stuffed one lipo by letting it go flat and come really close with another. I added a cheap lipo alarm to my TX so it beeps if it goes flat. So far so good. There is a risk that you could send your TX up in smoke in a worst case scenario.

But ultimately without a low batt cutoff (like the DX8) its risky. My gripe with NiMH is that they seem very expensive for what you get. If you can get a long lasting high quality NiMh then that's the best shot. But it better be an awesome battery as I still feel they are too expensive.

I did some research and found that duracell has a precharged LSD battery that has white on the lable near the positive side and everyone claims they are rebranded Eneloop, anyone use these batteries before? And what is the best way to hook the battery together if I buy single cells?

The one at heli proz is $53 and all the other places I have seen they are about the same. I can get the duracell ones ( rebranded Eneloop) for about $22 for 8 batteries and put the pack together myself if it is not too hard to do.
