I started with a Schluter Champion. Back in those days a dial indicator was not an option, and the gyros were louder than todays electric motors

Proud to have over 13 pages of Good Guy feedback.

Ironically, the Raptor 30 would have been the best one to start on, without exception.

I started with an X-cell 30 way back when, I'm glad I did. It was and still is a rock solid hovering and fff machine. Still fly it about once a year always brings back "those" beginner memories.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

Started with kyosho caliber 30. Now a rex 600n, which in my opinion is basically a result of many other manufacturers strong-points put together. But its nice, and affordable (if you can use that word in this hobby that is).

Some people think I have A.D.D., but I... oh look, a bunny.

Started with corona lit machines.(Very Bad) Any clone is 100% better than that. Clones are ok. Just need lock tight and a person to help teach you how to set a heli up. i would say that 75% of newbies crashed are from bad setup. I would say that clone blades are great. Nice blades are great to but a new person will never know the difference.

I have exi 450 clone that rocks and just got a clone 500 soon to rock. I have a freind that has a 600 clone and it is also good. EXI is a good brand. for 450-500 clones.

When I started in 07 there wasn't nearly the cloning that is going on these days. My gateway was a Walkera 22E given to me by the wife. I don't need to say how successful that was. The next step was an Art-tech Falcon 3D that had just came out. RTF, cheap at $299, seemed like a good idea. That helicopter, despite not being awesome at all, took me very far after I got a cheap used Futaba T6EXH radio. Next step was an RC-Tek 450, which I still fly to this day. The RC-Tek was not a clone since it shares only a few parts with the T-rex, more of a reimagining of the T-rex 450 and in my mind a better version. Not any cheaper at the time than a T-rex but didn't have gay blue anodizing (my only reason for not getting the T-rex). My first and only Nitro is my Raptor 50V2 SE and it still flies to this day as well. If I was in the market for a brand new helicopter I don't even know what I would get. So many choices.
