That's a good commercial. It's a good idea too. I'll have to pick one up.

Appears real enough. Wonder if my LHS will carry these?

Yes it is a real tool. I saw them at the Weak Signals Expo in Toledo this past weekend. I think it was the heli wholesaler's booth. I did not see it on their website yet, but I bet if you call them you could get them.

I am not affiliated with them in any way, just passing on info that I saw them.

Already checked the chimp site but you cant order from there and searched the heliwholesaler site but nothing came up.

That's why I questioned wether or not it's real and if anyone has a link to a site that you can actually purchase the tool.

EDIT - Just talked to heliwholesaler and was told that they are expecting to start stocking them in a week or so!

I hope ChimpSystems applies for a USA Patent for these?

Otherwise I bet the Chinese factories are already cutting aluminum for copies (Knock - Offs) of these Grippy Tools.

I believe its a Bobby Watts & Caleb Pinckney design. ChimpSystems is also Bobby's new co.
Don't quote me on this. Just a wild guess.
Guess I can stop using vice grips from now on.

There was another guy making the same type of tool, I picked one up from him last year. Cost me $20 and worth every penny.

These were on display in Toledo, the cost will be roughly $22 for the Singles and $29 for the Duo.

seriously, in what scenario other than a super bent spindle, would this tool be beneficial??

with a bent spindle, I would just use vice grips. But, when you are talking Hirobo prices for a spindle, this would come in very handy to tear an unbent head apart....

I've found that the new type of hardened spindles like from Align 700 seem almost impervious to marring. Also, I pull the spindle out of the headblock and use the grips on the middle of the spindle to where if it does mark it up a tad its not issue. Usually a piece of paper towel folded still allows the vice grips to hold but not mark. Still a excellent tool to have in the box and the price is very well marked.

On another note, it if very nice to see Bobby doing so well in the industry. I wish you nothing but good fortune man!

Removing blade grips, changing bearings, changing dampers or shims. No need to use this on a bent spindle.

I'm converting 3 models to flybarless and have already used my Grippy several times removing the grips....Yea Grippy!

It's not a tool that I can't do without but it is one I won't do without.

I'll get mine when they are out.

One thing I noticed on the Duo.
The 10mm bearing is short sided to the 8mm bearing.
Wouldn't you want the larger one on the end furthest out since the larger one requires more torque?

I literally never use the word literally right.

It's not about torque, it's the fact that you can hold the shaft while you turn the bolt on the other end.
