I just want to vent a little...it's a beautiful sunny day here in Maine today, but once again the winds are 13 gusting to 20. The wind pisses me off!

I just bought some kites (box, parafoil and a funny) to play with on windy days.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

The wind has been bad here in north Louisiana as well. I've got a brand new Logo 600 and have been afraid to fly it due to wind. I haven't been able to set any vbar auto settings because of it. They died down to 5-8 mph yesterday evening so I got a couple of high test flights in, but scared to open it up yet.

Curse you Wind!!!

13 gusting to 20? Come on, go out and fly, that's nothing. Yesterday was 20 gusting to 25 here and I put 7 flights in, including 1 buddy box session with my 3 year old on the Rave 450. If he can fly a 450 in winds that strong, so can you.

My buddy and I used to pack up when the wind got over 10mph... After a while we realised that we spent more time packing up than flying so we just decided to learn to fly in the wind. Now we pack up around 25mph... The wind is also great for practicing auto's

Wind is your friend. It keeps the plankers out of the air! Also, a good FBL system makes the wind tolerable.

If winds are reasonable, up to say 15 mph I'll fly. It's still fun up to that point and it really does sharpen the skills. Beyond that the fun factor drops and I don't do anything if it isn't fun. It's a hobby, not a job. Some days it's a mood thing. I've had days where I've had fun in winds and other days where 3-5 mph breezes aggravate me. It's funny but part of the reason I started flying planes last year was because I felt planes were easier (more fun) in the wind so I would have something to fly no matter the conditions. This year I am feeling that helicopters are more fun in the wind and I tend to fly the planes less if winds are up. Interesting how that worked out.

Wind is good, I can really use it to my advantage, especially for autos. 13-20 is nothing.

Living in Indiana is rough. Ill fly in the wind, but sometimes you just want that relaxing lazy fly time. Its been nothing but cold on my days off and nice on the days I work. The gusts of 20mph winds don't make flying as fun. Ready to move to Florida.

Rex it!
