OK you BeastX guru's..............
I have just set up my first FBL unit(BeastX) and the tail seems very sensitive, move the stick 1/8" and you get full tail travel in that direction. I have not flown it, this is on the bench. Have I missed something, set something wrong????????

Is this normal when the motor is not running as it has no torque to counter.

Any info or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....

Perfectly normal in Heading Hold mode. Once it is spooled up, it will move the way you expect it. In HH mode, the gyro's computer is responding to your stick movement and trying to move the tail. Since the tail can't move when the tail rotor is not moving, the gyro can't tell if it has been effective and so keeps moving the tail linkage.

Put it in rate mode to have proportional movement.

Cheers!

Al

Thankyou Al, very similar to giving cyclic on take off which causes it to tip over.
I should have remembered that, getting old memory slipping.
Thanks to all

Well I set up very basic pitch and throttle curves and took it for a hover......................what a non event just corrected for a slight tail movement and it lifted into the air as smooth as silk, virtually hands off in the hover. I will check for anything loose etc and set proper P & T curves.
I will only be doing sport flying at the most so if you have any setups suitable for the Align 550 please post suggestions etc.
Thank you all for your input, without which it would still be on the bench.

If it cannot fly on it's own, then I won't be much help....
