Hello,

I started assembling my Trex e600 about 3 years ago, got frustrated with the electronics after building the whole kit and had someone else set it up for me. I was terrified to fly the finished product until recently. It flies amazing, but still nowhere near the performance of many others I have seen. I only got the courage to fly it upside down 2 weeks ago, and I realized that when it's inverted and I go to flip it back over, at max pitch it gets sloppy and spins as it flips. Is this a gyro or headspeed problem or is this normal?

Also I vaguely remember having to loctite everything that shouldn't move and grease everything that should when I was putting it together. The main gear is completely dry, is it supposed to be?

Thanks a lot,

Ford

Does it only do it when your inverted? Can you give it full pitch in upright flying and the tail not hold? If it holds in up right and not inverted You may have to much nag. pitch. If it does it both ways then you need to turn up your gain on your gyro. Also you dont need to give the heli full pitch for it to roll over. pitch managment is a big deal with helis you only need to move your stick one line up or down from center for it to do anything. The less you move your pitch the more control you will have of the heli and you can keep it in you place.

Never grease the main gear on the Trex 600. This is just inviting dirt to collect and prematurely wear it down.

What's your headspeed? Tail authority is proportional to headspeed, so if you are already running a relatively low headspeed and punch it max negative, that tail is just not going to hold.

As stated above, a big plus 1 on NOT greasing the main gear. Do yourself a favor and keep it clean as possible.

What kind of gyro are you running?

The ignored one

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately my heli is in California and I'm in Colorado, and I don't know my gyro off the top of my head, but how do you measure your headspeed? I figure it is probably an overly aggressive pitch setup but I'll have to experiment with it when I get back.
