I really like the Microbeast - compact, easy to setup and tune to your liking, tracks rock-solid and the tail holds very well indeed (certainly as well as, if not better than the Spartan DS760 it replaced). So impressed I bought another one for the TRex 500 I am building...

HAPPY RAPPY!

the Raptor is still the bird I recommend to someone starting out with limited funds. I just started back after a 16 year hiatus and took my son's Raptor 50 after he graduated to a Synergy N5. I am very happy with it. It flies well is cheap and easy to fix. I have even picked up FREE parts in the packages at the Orlando fun fly! If you have the money to burn I would choose the N5 over the T-Rex as it is more robust and parts are readily available in most locations. The Hirobo is a great heli but parts are expensive and hard to get. that leaves the new birds I have seen and most need quite a bit of work before they are air worthy. I do not think for a starter heli you can beat the Raptor. I bought my son's 2 years ago for $250 NIB. This was the Titan With a TT Metal head thrown in for good measure. Still Loving It!

I own other brands including Align and my Raptors (electric and nitro) are more reliable than the others. They just keep on flying.

It's amazing how much weight there is in the FB head when you switch to a FBL! Not to mention the way it changes the flight characteristics.

If you skip me I can't play!

TT all the way, have a 30v2 that I bought used from swoop! This heli has got a bunch of flights on it.Put os 37 in her with a MP2Q pipe, and a 601 gyro. Has never failed yet. Have a titan,50 also bought used! This heli was bought crashed, put new parts on air frame, then added os 50 hyper with MP5,770 gyro with 9254,9252s every wher else! Flys like a champ! hirbo 30 was junk, bad clutch problem. Love those Raptors

if you want poor flght characteristics...get the rex. However if you want nice smooth flight characteristics, get the Raptor.

Don't look at is as outdated...consider the raptor a machine that works, so why change.

Common sense isn't so common. Yes, there are stupid questions

Compared to other brand helis I was trying to run often, the Raptors have required much less attention. I was trying to make Audacity Pantera a workhorse practice machine (had 3 or 4 of them) but it was a pain in the butt. Giant but poor quality bearings, junk swashplates, exploding tail grips, etc. The Raptors just go and go. 30,50,60 and 90. I have them all and they serve me very well. The TT on the 60/90 does require some attention to detail when building and then you need to keep an eye on the gears. None of them seem to be worth a darn when they impact the ground.
