Hi Guys

I going to need some help here.
I’ve purchased a Trex 450 clone but the seller delivered a V1 equivalent, instead V2 and now I am dealing with them about exchange it but they have offered me a discount in the price instead.
My intention was to get the V2 clone and gradually replacing parts for Align V2 (or V3), as needed.
However, because I am new in the hobby I am not sure if the machine I got will accept V2 or V3 parts and in case it does not, that would be a deal breaker and I would be fighting for a exchange to a clone V2 or a refund.

The clone I received is a Titan 450 P instead the one I ordered Titan 450 V2 and the head looks to me like different than TREX V2.

Here is the one I received which I believe the same as TREX 450 SE:
Pictures: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/3...F_6CH_2_4G.html

Brushless motor: Titan X450-F 3500 KV
Motor gear: 11T/13T
Speed controller: Titan ESC-30A

Here is their V2:
Pictures: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/3...lectric_rc.html

Brushless motor: KV 4000 Motor
Motor Drive Gear:: 13T (but I have seem ads saying 14/15T )
Speed controller: Titan ESC 40A

Based on the info above, I believe the older version I've received would be slower tha V2, which actually is fine for a noob like me that still learning, so my main concern now is basically upgrade ability

Thank you!

Yes Tarot 450 pro is better but belt drive probably be better as cheaper to repair.

Any Tarot would be my #1 choice in a clone

Thank you guys!
I have no doubt the Tarot is one of the best Trex clones.
I got this Titan 450 for less than $150 shipped and it is RTF coming with a radio that is not bad at all.
I am not discussing quality here as I am aware that will never be the same as Align or other top brands, but for now, I believe it will work for me as a machine to learn and beat up until I can progress and then move to a better grade machine.
My concern is just one, could I gradually fit v2 parts in it as they brake, considering the head and other parts still V1?
I am guessing I could but I want hear the experts first.
Thanks again!

450 Clones

Hawk600

I first Starter out with a HK 450... Then I got myself a 450 SE V2 clone from XHeli.com for about $40 shipped. (I know many would say their helis are not worth it, also XHeli.com and HobbyPartz.com are the same Online company.) Though for what you plan on doing, it should work out for you. I did the same, Got the 450 42 V2 Kit, and first things I Replaced was Feathering/main shafts and main Gears with align ones. I've have flown this heli for over a year and all I had to replace besides the typical shafts after a crash has been the Rubber Bushing in the Head, they come with cheap rubber ones... I replaced them with Green Mike TrueBlood Dampers and the Heli Flies very Responsive.
I also use a DX7 to get all I can out of it. I actually use this Heli as my Beater to try New tricks before I try them on my Real Align Trex 450 Pro and Trex 600 Nitro.

Hope this helps... Also, the V1 has a smaller Feathering Shaft than the V2. That's the biggest difference from the V1 n V2 !

I looked at a HK 450 sport clone at the field yesterday (brand new machine). The machining was horrendous. The head looked as though it was tossed out a moving car going 70. I have owned a tarot 450 pro clone and it was much better quality than the hobbyking stuff, but it still was not in the ball park of the oem align stuff.

I had a buddy buy HK pro and the screw's are bigger and that's nice but the align frames wouldn't fit. After upgrading what he wanted with align parts he wish he had never bought the POS.

the exi is more compatible to align parts and im building a 450 pro for under 125 bucks its just a beater

450 pro xheli 79 bucks right now

on a clone upgrade the main shaft feathering shaft tail rotor and get some true blood dampers and you will be just as good as a align

Don't have any of them, but I've heard EXI is better than HK.
I mean look on youtube video of the 250 HK...if you crash they throw it all in the trash it's done for. I say that's a waist of time building it and money IMO
Anyone can spend there money anyway they like so don't get me wrong.

the align is still a lot better quality but in the air you ll never know the difference

and for a beginner stay away from the torque tube tail unit for a while .

I've always replaced a downed 450 with an HK frame. Never an issue. I also have an exi head on my rex/hk. It's a frankenheli! Flies wonderful!

I'm addicted to flying! Seriously!! I need rehelihab!

Check the Haulser 450 SE V2 out. I took a chance on buying one and do not regret it. Then again, I haven't had to fix it yet from a crash The only thing I would suggest is upgrading the radio to get the most out of it and changing to carbon blades. Another suggestion I have heard is to purchase the Align screw kit.

+1 on the True Blood Damper

As wicked Mentioned, Replace the Shafts, Gears, Dampers and the Tail Box and it will fly as smooth as an Align 450.

On the Plus side, The EXI 450 V2 kit comes with Metal Side Frames... So if you Crash it hard enough, it's only going to Bend instead of Breaking or Cracking. Just get a malet hamer and bend it back to shape. Then u'll be good to go, or just replace them with align CF Sides. Then You'll be that much closer to an Align Heli... Ahaha

This has worked for Me well as I learned the basics of Crashing with Stule ... Or minimal Damage.
