I'm now the very happy owner of a shiny new 12FG.

So glad I went for it, the quality oozes from it. The 8FG just did not do it for me even though it is a very capable radio.

Stand by for the help required to program it seeing I have come from the Spekie/JR camp!!

Not a case of RTFM, as TFM is rubbish!!

I sold my JR PCM9Xv2 and bought a Futaba T8FG and love it.

I have used JR for fourteen years and have now fallen in love with my Futaba.

As a test run before converting the first fbl heli in the fleet to futaba, I converted the rex250 flybar and it took me over two hours to do the converting with the help of the Ben Minor's write-up. I'm getting the hang of it. The first fbl conversion starts this coming Sunday.

Guys, we have extended the Trade-Up Program until the end of August. I don't think any of you would be disappointed in the 8FG, 12FG, or 12Z or the 14MZ. All four are the best helicopter radios currently available.

It's a shame Ripmax don't do the same trade up here in the UK. I know a few people who are looking at changing from Spektrum to Futaba, and it's expensive when you have to change all your receivers as well.

how do you think the got the name ripmax

RIP of customer for the MAX profit.

i got a 10c radio nice, but then they bring out the 8fg, which is better and cheaper.

i would change over to the 12fg, but i dont like the module, you would think that it would of been updated by now with dedicated 2.4gh and back light screen.

i did hear that guy's with the 10c radio's may be able to get a software update, but i cant remember where i read it.

may have to jump ship and go JR

Module is actually good. People with FM can jump in between Fm and 2.4ghz OR if Futaba comes out with a better version of Fasst the module users can just buy a module.

Removing the module structure would be a downgrade not an update IMHO. Granted there may not be many who use the 12FGH for both 2.4 and 72mhz but there is another advantage. Tip over your radio, I've never done that of course, and break a switch. Now what do you do while you send it in for repair. Well if you have a buddy with a 12FGH you simply pop the module out and your SD card, send in your 12FGH for repair and fly like nothing has happened. You don't even need to rebind because the code is in the module not the TX.

I have had the 12FGH for three years and have needed to send it in for repair twice. Both times I didn't miss a beat because it has a module that I popped out and put in another radio while mine was in the shop.

I agree with the above post. I at first did not like the thought of having a module, but the option of reverting back to 35meg for FPV is good, and as stated, if FASST gets replaced, we can just get the module and not have to re learn a new Tx.

Having enough trouble to learning this Tx!!

As said, FASST is the best at the mo, but in the future we change from 2.4 to an even better signal. With the module, it's an easy upgrade.
