The attempt to hide present day facts behind history does not cut it.

no, he didn't.

it would be impossible to miss a loud mouthed, ranting raccoon like you. your kind of logic will never hold up.

Dusty could be blind folded and he'd still get you.

BTW, what zoo is it that you like to be sent too, I hear those in Iraq or Afghanistan are always on the lookout for exotic American creatures to make fun of.

looks like Dusty got you too.

I heard that the chemicals in the tranquilizer has the effect of making the animal darted start thinking rubbish. In Dennis's case there is, unfortunately, no change, since he spouts rubbish to begin with.

Change your bong water, reload and take a nice long hit.

Dusty, I rest my case.
I think it might be an emotional thing with Dennis, and therefore his 'solution' of ''kill them relentlessly before they attack us again'' is an emotional reaction. That he refuses to consider the facts before making a decision as to whether they are worth consideration or not, is illogical to say the least, and certainly points to his reaction as being an emotional rather than logical one.

While I in no way want to belittle what happened on 9/11, perhaps in the U.K. our society has become more conditioned to being bombed, so most of us can deal with it rationally. Not forgetting the 70,000 or so U.K. civilians killed by Hilter's bombs in WW2, the amount of bombings we have suffered, while nowhere near the scale of 9/11, have nevertheless been relentless, for decades. I suppose if we were to get so emotionally involved as to not even be able to look at the reasons as to why these attacks happen, never mind actually find a real solution to many of them, we would be in a right state by now.

I only hope that there aren't too many more like Dennis in the U.S. who are scared to even consider the reasons as to why 9/11 happened. I would hate to think what might happen if emotion came before logic on a national scale.

Dennis, you've got this back to front. That 9/11 happened and 3000 civilians were killed, is the most important thing here. That is the foremost fact, and we look as to why it happened, because it happened, not in spite of it happening.

You cannot know how important the reasons are, or even if they matter at all, to you, unless you actually know what those reasons are.

Nobody is trying to hide anything. Looking for the reasons as to why it happened, will not make you forget that it did happen.

If you want to look at only what is happening now, then consider how this so called war on terror is doing. I hear that President Obama has set a date for withdrawal from Afghanistan of 2014. Is that the date that he knows that you will win the war? Why not before then, or why might it not take longer? It's illogical to say the least, and when something seems illogical, then you should question how much truth there is in it. I don't mean just in his decision to pull out, I mean the whole so called war on terror.

Why do you suppose that we are now reportedly fighting on the same side as Al Quaeda in Libya, and we are supposed to be fighting against them in Afghanistan? That is never mind the fact that it's actually the Taliban that we are fighting in Afghanistan, and not Al Qaeda. And why would the U.S. stand by and watch the Taliban be rapidly re-armed in the 90's by Pakistan using Saudi money, while enforcing an arms embargo on anti-Taliban forces?

Do you ever question anything?

Dusty
911 was an immigration issue. It is as simple as that. Anyone visiting the US should have a tracking bracelet fitted to their ankle. If they don't want to deal with that, they can stay home. There is no need for more workers. There is no good reason that students from other parts of the world should get to go to school here when our own citizens are not sufficiently educated.

That would do wonders for your tourist trade I'm sure.

That wouldn't stop an inbound international flight from being hijacked, nor would it stop people who are wearing such bracelets from hijacking a plane, since all the bracelets would do is tell the authorities who is on that plane at that time.

There are also of course people already living in the U.S. who may potentially become terrorists. For example, Muslims, who may become radical Muslims, and others who convert to Islam, and who then might become radical Muslims. How would you deal with them?

Man! I don't get on here enough to keep up!
Dusty, if you read the whole article and maybe a couple of others about that era you will see that the Muslims of then were indeed attacking Europe as well as their own neighbors. In fact the group in the mountain stronghold are credited with comming up with the whole fourty virgin thing and other tenants of modern Muslim terrorism.
Now, You are correct in that there were/are other people and groups professing to be Christians that were/are just as bad or worse. The Nazis are the worst example of that and the idiots in Ireland are inexcusible but also that doesn't excuse the Muslim terrorists from their evil.
The problem with all of these groups is that they get their religion cast in a bad light with their insane hatred and violence and that makes the victims of their violence angry enough to want to destroy everyone of the terrorist's religion.
Hell, people can't even talk about it on a heli forum without calling each other names!
And it all just keeps going around and around.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!

Well lets see now. Its been almost 10 years now that 9/11 happened. Its been a very, very long time that WWII happened and Britain was bombed. And, you are still promoting looking into the reasons why these events happened rather than looking for a solution. The solution is not in the past.

The solution is simply cornering and destroying the enemy before he kills you.

Go ahead Dusty. You carry your frickin history book to the enemy. A soldier will have to carry a rifle. Obviously, that soldier will not get any help from the likes of guys like you.

fwiw..

This is gettin' fun agin...

I say Dennis has the advantage.....Emotion and pragmatism are two different animals...A study of what we can gather about the Crusades, a bit of reading of several different translations of the Q'ran, the actions worldwide of muslim extremists, the advent of "Londonistan"..

All point to islam being a danger to what we in the West refer to as "Civilization"...Consider if you will that all the advances in science and mathematics developed in the Arab wold seems to have stopped with the advent of islam...You get the idea...

Dennis.. You've got 'em on the ropes...Time for the "ropeadope"!!
