for example when a manufacturer says a charger is 6A(amps)max this is determined by the max watts it outputs and the battery you are charging.

So while the manufacturer can say 6A max but its a 50 WATT charger.it will only do 6S(6 cell)batts at about 2.2Amps max, and if you are charging 5000mah batts this is not even 1/2C

Watts=Volts x Amps

so a 50 watt charger can do a 3s battery at about 4.5 amps so for a 2200mah battery you can go 2C but a 6s 5000 mah only 1/2C

you take the max watts of the charger and divide it by the V of the battery you are charging and it will tell you the Max Amps the charger will do that battery at.

the capacity of the battery will determine what C rate you charge at

these numbers are just general numbers and dont account for efficiency,but it gets you close and gives you the general idea

and how long would it take to charge one battery?
A 1C charge rate is about an hour per battery.
I currently am parallel charging and can run up against my 300w limit so am looking into the 1000w class but will also have to redo my power supply.
The FMA PL8 V2 is a 1344W charger and can charge 1, 2 or even 6 batteries at the same time(parallel charging). It is the most powerful charger on the market. But the 306B is also powerful(1000W) and is only $195...both of these chargers will charge big packs fast,
parallel charging.

You will not find a powerful charger with built-in power supply (AC/DC). IF you want fast charging capability of multiple packs you will need to get a powerful DC charger and a powerful 24+ volt DC power supply. If you don't need this much power you can get a cheap AC/DC charger from your LHS or online. HK sells many cheap chargers that will do the trick. The Turnigy works fine.

If you want power get either a FMA Cellpro PoweLab 8 or ICharger 3010B. You will need a DC power supply capable of about 1500+W to get the most out of each charger.
From page one.

Calmair,

Whats the difference between your Hyperion EOS 0720i net3 AD
and the Hyperion EOS 0606I AC/DC Balance Charger besides the price. both are AC/DC chargers.
