MA helis are worth every penny. Excellent support is just a phone call away. Everytime I take my Furion out it quickly draws a group of admirers and it flies awesome.

For anyone who has seen it: How does the size compare to the Rave ENV? One of the things I love about mine is that it is huge and easy to keep track of in the air, but parts availability is disappointing. I may preorder a FBL Whiplash if it is similarly scaled. Unfortunately "up to 10% larger" doesn't give much real info.

Eury,

If you like big, imagine what this heli would look/perform like as a 14s 800mm heli. Just need a longer boom/TT shaft (oh, and gear ratios that let you get the hs down to ~1700-1800). Like band said earlier, real good cyclic servos would be a must.

Man this would be sweet eh!

Cheers,
TomC

Grab the popcorn!

Wow! Some heated debate!

I think people that can't afford one are just angry... It's okay... Whatever you need to do to justify what you purchase right?! Get the cheap heli with the cheap to replace parts AND be sure to grab a lot of spare parts because you'll need to replace it a lot more often!

I believe in the quality and durability of MA and will get one of these new 90 when it's out.

I guess I've had really good experience with MA so I'm going to stick with them!

I see that MA has gone to a larger 9mm spindle on the Whiplash. Most of the current MA 90-sized heli's have a 8mm spindle.

My question is, does the new Whiplash have a 12mm mainshaft or does it have the same solid 10mm mainshaft, like all current MA 50/90 heli's?

Seems to me that most new 90's are using a 12mm main shaft (generally a hardened hollow shaft).

I believe that the new logo xxtreme, designed to handle 800mm blades, has a 12mm spindle and 14mm mainshaft (both hollow/hardened) btw.

Cheers,
TomC

Looks like a 10mm shaft. That's ok if it's under 11 lbs

Yes, and we're shooting for an early summer release. Of course that is barring any unforseen circumstances, which have popped up on previous models. We are doing everything we can to have it released as soon as possible.

Brian;
What do you expect the E to weigh set up like the photo RTF, including the canopy, but without batteries?

As Brian said, barring any issues. Getting a new model from design to testing, to everyone seeing one and wanting it is the easy part. The hardest part is getting it into the box and shipping.

As Kevin said, packaging is always the biggest part of a delay. I can remember Tim telling me that was why he just wanted to bag the parts a put them in a plain box.
