Was I not clear? It's this kind of attitude that will get someone hurt.

Since ever, since I started with this wonderful hobby, I was (also at my flying field) known as the most UNFLEXIBLE rc pilot in therms of safety! I several times, also in this forum recalled people to be careful!
Since I started in 2005 with RC Helis, Before every flight, I've always checked everything on my helis, much more than any other people that I know!
Since I had the first of these glitches on my Trex700, I never let all my 3 helis in the air again and runned all tests without Main and Tail blades!
After hundreds of tests I found out that I had two problems!Thinking they were the same problem I were confused!
The first problem is that I had really a noise problem on my trex700!
The second problem is that I could have a general lower output on my 40mhz modules, or probably even not, considering that these tests were made all on ground, and as everyone knows, on the ground we can't have the effective range like in the air! Probably I had the same range since ever, without knowing it, (because in the air I never arrived at these distances), until I runned these tests!
Regardless all this I'm mounting on ALL my helis a brand new TX and RX system, switching also to 2.4ghz!
It is in my nature to think everytime the worst!

Good move

Very happy to hear your move. Heli's kill electronics over time from vibration mostly. As for noise?

I actually wrote a short ' bit ' on it relevant to N &E that I hope you find interesting for setting up your Heli in general: https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t635732p1/

Leejay,

Stop being the doomsday machine. A radio techy is not the answer to this situation. Francesco and I have been working very diligently and safely on this situation. There are a lot of things he had done methodically that he is not elaborating because this is a forum and he is not writing a book.

What gives you the right to think that he is not doing it safely? What do you think a radio techy can do? Stop being a geek and start living in the real world. Even engineers have to rely on empirical data from the real world once in a while. Just looking at some damn scope is not doing any one any good. As far as a large voltage drop you don't need an engineering degree to figure that out nor do you need a scope. All you need is some common sense and proper tests. That was the first thing he had ruled out. We save you the pain of having to read each and every one of his countless hours of testing on the ground without rotor blades and safely!

Get off your soap box. I am getting off mine. BTW I am stealing your pictures to illustrate a point to a newbie, thanks.

Have been chatting to helikam in the pms. He is absolutely going about this the right way and in my humble opinion, backed up many years of personal blah, blah etc etc.
There is nobody you can trust more than youself...if you know what you are doing... which I think he certainly does.
These kind of problems have to be solved with logic and method, he is applying both it would seem and doing it safely.

The only mistake he has made here is the same one I and many others have made in this game, and that is to trust a manufacter to make a safe product. That photo should be sent to the idiot responsible for designing his speed controller that kicks out all that RF.
I mean come on chaps, whats the first thing on a design list for any component that plugs into an RC radio.......ERRRR

MUST NOT COMPROMISE RADIO SIGNAL!!!

And you guessed it they failed.

Sorry for the rant but this has happened to me so many times with expensive equipment that now I don't trust anything I plug into my reciever until I have conducted my own range tests etc on it.

All the best Guys, and remember, never trust your gear completely...
Happy Flying

Seismic

What made me think you weren't getting a resolve?

Lack of progress prima facia'

As for soapbox? Not for safety.

And in your ignorance you think a techy has a scope and nothing more?

There's always one and this time it was you
