Dave, do the standard 600/700 servos work in this big heli? Will a certain oz/inch minimum torque be suggested for it? Thanks for the updates.

It looks like Mikado is about to be outdone by MA. The Whiplash looks to be a winner. Simpler in design than the XXtreme and the right size. No one said they need an 800! Too big for most fields and the need for more expensive and XXtreme (and/or unavailable) components equals failure.

All I can say is just wait..I don't believe the XXtreme will be for everyone but I am sure as hell going to get one. Wait for the videos of the XXtreme I am sure it wont be long before you change your mind...

The Wiplash has been flying at events. It is not just a computer model. On the converse, no one has even seen the XXtreme fly!

Kyle D is flying it and Dave even said this, what more did you want?

Pics and video will come soon i am sure.

I do laugh when people are saying oh it better not be $1500US or whaever, as if $500 will make it or break it, the other components etc will be much more than the heli purchase.

The only thing I dislike about Mikado right now is they take their sweet time to release their helis. Come on already and at least give us some video.

When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!

Really

"no one has even seen the XXtreme fly!"

No one but the manufacture designers and test pilots maybe its all a joke maybe the XXtreme is not even flyable maybe its a complete failure and that's why Mikado wont show any videos of it flying...Please.. I personally don't like it when Microsoft releases a new OS that's clearly not ready for the public and why do they do this so we can find all the problems and they can fix them. Well I really don't want thousands of dollars worth of electronics on a heli that has not been properly tested and proven. That worked so well for Align and the 3G what a great FBL system that is you need glue and tape to make it work half way decent..

@ Rogman88,

You asked about servos?

Kyle is currently flying the XXtreme with JR 8717's @ 6.0V on cyclic. No issues. A JR 8900G tail servo or equivalent Futaba is all that's needed there.

It looks like Mikado is about to be outdone by MA. The Whiplash looks to be a winner.
"Outdone"? I'm confused. What do you mean?
"Winner..." as in the same way Charlie Sheen means "winner"?
The Whiplash looks...
Ohhh boy... the ones who panned the name "Logo xxtreme" are gonna have a field day with this one! ...Because what's the first thing that comes to mind when someone says "whiplash" (other than a sleazy ambulance-chasing lawyer who will tell you that he'll "fight for what you deserve!" For a 50% share of an accident settlement, of course )?

Well, I'm not sure about everyone else, but to me whiplash is generally defined as an injury to the ligaments, joints, and soft tissues of the neck region of the spine because of a sudden, violent jerking motion of the head. Like when you get seriously rear-ended or T-boned in a car accident.

I, however, will not be going to the MA forum to bash them for that, because (1) I like MA products, and (2) that's not how I roll.
No one said they need an 800!
What in this hobby has anything to do with "needs?" I'm still trying to find the first person who ever said he/she *needs* an RC heli.
...the need for more expensive and XXtreme (and/or unavailable) components equals failure.
Failure? See my reference to Charlie Sheen and "winning."

Hmmm, to me 'Whiplash' means the whip itself as in the heli will be very fast. I.e. whipping around!

Dave, sounding good! That is too funny though if people will complain the 800 is too quiet! I get it that flying 700s won't be the same after flying a 800.

I reckon Kyle should compete at XFC & 3DM with 800mm blades just to intimidate the other pilots! Hehe.

Let me guess

Scorpion 4525-520 or 4530-540

I would try Xera 4035-600 if gearing allows it.

The 50 series is much easier and cheaper to get than the LE motors.

I remember when i put the pyro in the logo 600SE it was almost silent!
