I have an old SE V2 that's been collecting dust for years and have a couple of questions.

First, the swashplate has an incredible amount of slop. Nothing appears to be loose on it except for slop in the bearing itself. Is there any way to fix this, something like how JR and Beam swashplates have set screws around the outer race which allows you to put some preload on the bearing? Has anyone tried doing this? If not, what would be a good replacement swash?

Second question is about the Align controller that came with the kit. Is it normal for the power to pulse when the battery gets low? I'm using some older 3S packs and after a short time, the power pulses. The instructions say the power will be reduced but does not say whether this is steady or pulsed. The batteries cycle okay but not sure about under load while flying. If the pulsing is normal, then I know the batteries are shot.

Thanks, Scot

1 -- buy a new swash
2 -- sounds like your old batteries are toast. Buy new batteries, or at least change the cutoff setting of your ESC to the lower selection.

LiPos, unlike diamonds, are not forever. They have a finite life, and the clock starts ticking the day they are manufactured.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the input. Got new batteries on order already and will try them. Funny thing is they did that when new a while back when they were new. Maybe I have the esc programmed wrong?

What would be a GOOD swashplate to get? I don't want to buy an original replacement and have it be bad.

I was able to remove 70% of the slop from my swash with a new bearing.
