Does anybody have pics of the new N5 FBL head mounted on their bird so I can see how it goes. This is my first FBL brid and want to get it right the first time. Also some new v-bar pics if you have that mounted also...Thanks

For the wash out or whatever it is called on a FBL heli, how do you know where to set it? Level the swash and than level it?

I honestly couldn't tell you, I couldn't find that info, so I just set mine loosely and then set my pitches and made sure it wasn't going to bind and tightened it down. I assume that's what your supposed to do, if you have the arms level on it your not able to get much positive pitch.

Everything on a heli follows the 90 degree rule. If the swash is level then the "FBL washout" or "anti-rotation" should be level with the arms at 90 degrees. Unless is was design some other way this is the general rule to follow.

Thanks,
Chris

Very clean design, I like it.

When you set the swash driver, it is very critical that the pitch change links are parallel with the main shaft. With the blade grips facing nose and tail, look at the PC links from the side and that will be what you want. This adjustment is called Phasing. The swash driver may not be square with the head but it is more important that the PC links are. If your phasing is off, it will cause the blades to be off timing with the swash and will cause unwanted flight interaction. Other than that, set the arms parallel to the swash at mid stick, zero degrees like you would a washout base and arms.

On the synergy head, unless I got a bad one, your not going to get near enough positive pitch with the arms set to 90 degrees. I tried it that way at first, because most heli's you set everything to 90, but you'll only have a couple degrees positive. If you have the synergy head, try it and you'll see what I mean. Other heads are probably different, I'm giving an answer for the synergy head.

I DO NOT have the N5, I was talking FBL heads in general. Thanks for the info for those who it pertains too though.

Yeah I was just clearing that up.

Good advise on the links too, mine were good with the swash lock lined up with the head, I think on mine it had to line up for the arms to clear the headblock.
