I bought a brand new YS56 last year at Heli-Invasion, got it in and set up the throttle. Here we go for the maiden on the new motor, crank and crank and crank..now I'm gettin upset bc I just dropped all that money on a new motor that won't start. Checked the check valve and it was definitely pressurized. Turned out my stinking Switch-Glo was bad bc it fired right up with a battery glow driver... my wife marched right down there without me asking her while I was flying and when I came back, she handed me a brand new Switch-Glo Pro and said here, isn't this what you need? Then proceeded to rub it in that she got it cheaper! I fell in love again..

My wife says, "if I say I am having an affair, she knows I bought another heli".

If my wife had another job I'd have more Helicopters

So far I have snuck a Stratus and a TREX500 into the fleet without her noticing for over 6 months. But when she does... nothing happens. She knows I do my best not to crash, and when I have an incident like the last RX that went bad, she got to see it and felt bad for me. I guess i'm pretty lucky after all

I solved my problem by getting rid of my wife. Works good, I can fly whenever I want, if I crash, I won't get the evil eye. I can even work on heli's and planks in the living room now. I think I like this!
That's a technique...

I kinda like having my wife around. Heck, she'll be the one that says "Why don't you work on that in the living room, there's more room". I guess I am lucky. She has relatives that did the hobby so none of this is new to her. Plus, she figured out early on that if she doesn't ride my butt about hobbies that it is much easier to get me to do things.

what i do is have a hobby fund account i put x amount into it a week so if i want a new heli, plane, atv, parts or what ever as long i have funds to cover what i need/want I'm good to go if not I'll have to wait

so if i crash she don't care (to much )

Hardest part was putting my fleet together. She knew about heli #1 but when I bought #2 and #3 I bought all matching canopies and fins. It worked out great because she didn't know one from the other until one day I was heading to the flying field she was like ummm didn't you already take your heli out....umm yeah but I needed to fix something on it

Now I got Heli #9 but damn that was alot of hunny do's

My wife don't mind me crashing my helis and having to by parts to fix them, though she does frown when she sees it. but she hates it when i buy a new heli.

I always make an excuse by telling her that i bought it used off runryder really really cheap.

So I spent the afternoon building the T-Rex 450 Pro that the wife bought for me yesterday, working in the living room, while we both watched the Daytona 500. The air frame is completed and ready for electronics installation.

While I'm thinking of it, I was planning on using an Align 420 servo for the tail, but the rudder servo mount looks like it takes a larger servo. Suggestions!

Well guys, I was given a choice, her or the heli's. I didn't have really any choice since I love to fly and I didn't NEED her. Besides, my T-Rex 700 is better looking

OMG YOU SERIOUS....didn't she know you can't just find the perfect HELI anywhere. They just don't understand that keeping a HELI around is cheaper thank keeping them...great thinking

Yah, it's a long story and kind of a shame but that's really how it went down. I warned my current lady friend going in that I love my heli's and I love to fly. If she can't deal with it, dont waste our time!

OLROY,
I think one of the final nails in the coffin was when I took off to go to Boston with Bri_877 to pick up a heli that he purchased. She wanted to go out to dinner! I told her we had food at home and away I went.

I wonder if I should start a thread "Looking for a new girlfriend. Must be an R/C heli pilot." Then in the body of the thread "Must not out fly me and have your own heli's. Send picture of heli's!"
