My solution a long time ago was to develop a relationship with my postman, and have a secret rental shed.

Went to the local hobby shop today. My wife bought me a 'Rex 450 Pro kit, three 410 servos, and a 6110E receiver. I already have a 420 servo, a BeastX (and a 3G), and I'm on my own for FBL blades and head. This gives me a fleet of 11 helis, 6 of which were bought by my wife. Pretty good!

I don't hide anything. I also don't crash very often anymore either. My wife just gets kinda of sad and feels sorry for the mangle wreck that used to be a helicopter. She remembers what I spent on bass fishing so she has no gripe with what I spend on this hobby. Besides, she went through a Jewelery Channel phase so she doesn't have much room to talk.

I think it would be different if I was already flying when I got married but now picking up another Hobby and spending what I do it makes a big difference. I can only blame RR for all these damn good deals that I just can't seem to pass up
She has tried before to compare what she spends on her hobby to what I spend on mine, come on...scrapbooking pages cost .25 per page

I solved my problem by getting rid of my wife. Works good, I can fly whenever I want, if I crash, I won't get the evil eye. I can even work on heli's and planks in the living room now. I think I like this!

For me the new Align bags are a life saver I just pile all the parts in the carry bag and the wife none the wiser. My wife just doesn’t like my hobby, she even likes it less when I spend more $$ on parts so I just don’t talk about my crashes. She doesn’t ask and I don’t tell!

I'm on my own for FBL blades and head
I can understsand being on your own for fbl blades, but you must be really flexible for head.
Somehow you need to talk your wife into that one.

Appears that some of you need to fix the heli and replace the wife...... seriously. Life is just too short for that kind of stress. So, my better 3 quarters of 11 years knows that. So, she replaced my ex-wife and bought me my first heli! Plus I'm building planks again.....

that's the one thing my ex never did, was nag me about my hobbies. At one point I had 7 helis, several large planks AND I was traveling most every weekend racing dirtbikes. How I got away with THAT much is beyond me.

Guess I'm even more lucky than I thought. My wife actually likes going to the hobby shop with me to buy parts. In fact when I get something she tells me to buy two so I have a spare! God knows I crash often enough too!

The key here is to somehow get the new package of parts from the delivery truck to your garage without the wife knowing

a little smoke and mirrors
