I have the combo you are asking about. I am going to start out with the flybar head. After I have gotten all the bugs worked out, I'll switch over to the flybarless head. I'm still building my Radikal, so I can't tell you much about how the heli handles with the micro beast.

I always have fun. Some times are more fun than others.

+1 for the BeastX!

BeastX is the preferred flybarless system on my Radikal G20. I originally installed the 3G and couldn’t get the tail to feel right no matter what I did. Switched over to the BeastX and have really had great success. I mounted the unit on the gyro plate in the rear on a piece of zeal tape. Check out my gallery. Tried the double sided tape that came in the box but that didn’t work out very well. I really like the way it flys with the BeastX.

I see Heli-World now sales the beastx as a combo with the G20. They make a great combo.

One good thing about the BeastX is, if you want to use it just as a tail gyro while you work the bugs out. All you need to do is order one of thier leads and your set. When your ready to go FBL just hook it up and a little setup and your in there.

What Rad do you have

Strat do you have a 20 or 30. Are you going to set up your beast in single axsis, just for the tail. then break it in ?

"Edit" Bob beat me to it.

I have the G20 and have been flying it with the Beast for about a month now. I went FBL from the start, worked out all the bugs with the 3G originally. I got ta say though it was a bit of a change from flybared. Everything really needs to be setup exactly right and the beast makes that real easy. If this is your first FBL setup on a gasser I recommend single axis first to get everything the way you like it and switching the head out when you’re ready. But if you already know how to fly FBL it’s no big deal to go from the start.

I've got the G20. I will be ordering the lead for the micro beast and fly it as a gyro for now. I didn't realize you can only fly in one mode or the other, that you can't keep the flybar and set up the full micro beast. Not a big deal to me.
The combo comes with both heads (two heads are better than one), the motor and the Micro Beast. Let me tell you, the micro beast is small for all that it does! I've still got some parts on backorder and I have some other things that need my attention, so I am taking my time with this build. No sense in rushing to get it built and wind up doing something wrong and waiting for more parts.
If you can, see if you can upgrade to a motor with a magneto. It eliminates the need for a second battery pack. It might be worth it in the long run.
I've got a post on here with some pictures of how far I've gotten with the build.

No Mag

Strat I don't think you can get a mag for the 20, and I think the EI is a much better system. I think weight wise you would not save anything.
I run 2 Hyperion 123 life packs 1. 3000 mAH for receiver power 6.6 volts no need for regulators. I run power hungry 8717's
1. 1600 mAH for my EI. Works great I get 6 flights with plenty to spare
Best part they charge up in like 15min, if you need to.
EI engines start easier, and idle better

Oh I also run Wally's Hyper 21.5 Motor. It really rips and is smooth as silk.
The heavy duty clutch is a must have upgrade.

High voltage wiring for BeastX

One thing that I have done since the pictures were taken was rewire the electronics. After reading a few posts on HF about power distribution I decided to run all servo power leads from the receiver vise the beastx. I am only running regulated 6v so it may be a little over kill but they recommend this for a high voltage setups.
