Can this setup be made to work? i notice most are using the 45L? i happened to buy the 52 without doing the necessary groundwork,

The conversion kit says anything from a 450kv to 500kv? is there a particular reason for leaning towards the lower end of the KV range? Sorry, am a nitro guy dabbling in electrics.

The higher the KV number, the more RPM per same voltage the engine will turn. So the 520KV engine will turn faster then the 450KV.

Once you know that, then it comes down to the gearing option and head speed you are shooting for. The kit comes with the 3 pinions giving you :

T10 Pinion Gear 9.6:1
T11 Pinion Gear 8.73:1
T12 Pinion Gear 8:1

So a 520KV should workout fine on the T10.

Spoolup with Governor @ 65%: 2031
Spoolup with Governor @ 75%: 2150
Spoolup with Governor @ 85%: 2270

Go to Mr Mel head speed calculator - this will get you in the right direction.

By way of update, swapped the motor for a 450kv version and spent the last couple of weeks tweaking the Gyrobot and headspeed settings. This thing is awesome! I get a slight wobble as headspeed drops but am working to tweak this out, other than that, it has rediculous amounts of power and the gyrobot seems to be working very well.

Very happy with my first electric / fbl heli! There may be something to this. Still hate the 5 minute flight times though. And the cost and fragility of batteries suck too.

In terms of performance - since I believe you flew the Vibe with nitro first - how does if compare with the Pyro ?
