Is there a hatori muffler for this YS or shall I use SB-19 ?

Any other recommendations you can help with ?

I will install it in my new Eagle V-PUS for F3C ( FAI ) type of flying !

Thanks in advance for any comments you may post.

There is the Hatori SB19 FH-2. You can use the origional SB19 without any issues on the 3DS if you'd like to.

You'll have to trim your canopy though... You could use the #953 Hatori. It's for the Sr not the 3DS, but you can save yourself from cutting a "beautiful" canopy.

It is my guess, power will not be an issue so I rather place muffler 953.

I will look for.

Nevertheless, if I can not find it, sab 19 will be.

Thank both for your help !

should consider a true F3C muffler like the Funtech 90!! At the field yesterday, upon the observation and request of Steve H. and Daniel H., I switched a SB-19 to a Funtech and my YS .91 SR instantly became a "precision" setup. The main tell-tail of ill performance is that that SB-19 is a high RPM setup. Anything below 1650 or so and the motor physically cannot stay on the pipe, or run consistent, during hover.

Once fitted with the Funtech that I took from my other helicopter, the setup turned magically better. Hover and governor and FFF governor performance was the best I had EVER seen (GY701 gyro gov combo).

My "other" helicopter uses the YS .91 3DS - running the Funtech on it is also why is has performed so well.

The typical SB-19 YS .91 SR setting you read on RR - like 7/8 high, 1.5-1.75 mid, and 1.2 low, is WAY TO RICH for the Funtech. Low is 1 turn, Mid is 1.25, and high is leaner, useing Coop Power 30%. After leaning the motor, performance really came to life. Using the venom racing micro "on board" temp guage, maximum temperatures were 184 F.

Basically - the SB-19 is a powerfull top-end performer, but will drive you crazy in hover and shake your bird as the gov works with the motor coming on/off the pipe!!
Thanks,
Jim

#953 is a F3C muffler for Freya and Ys 91 Sr... What a Hatori fanboy I am.

Thanks for your input JIm, I have used HATORI only, do not have experience with funtech; although, you have a point !

My current eagle WC2 uses sab19 and JR 8711, I have trained a lot to do good hovers but; in my new eagle I am placing BLS 252 as recommended by Dr. Ben to avoid the "jumpy" effect from real fast and high torque servos and this recommendation about a muffler design to work with low RPM as well is good input since I am looking for a much better competition heli !

Tail does shake with my sab19 setup !
