Is anyone using this combo? If so, any issues?

Yes, I'm using the gview. I have an issue with it right now. You can hear the governor cut in and out when you unload the head, like coming down for a landing after a hard move. Its like the governor is on the border line of cutting in and out. I'm thinking it may be my throttle curves causing this. I just reset my throttle curve again and will try to fly tomorrow and see what happens. But I'm tired of fiddling with this. The heli itself is fine and was flying fine before the governor was installed.

i had this problem before but it was my fault.
i use my aux 2 switch endpoints to turn on the gov, no problem.
one day the gov wouldnt stay on, it was cutting on and off rapidly.
the problem turned out to be the endpoint value i chose was just barely enough to turn the gov on, so it was flickering on and off. i was able to see this only when i had the gview hooked up and the gov switched on. then i could see the values changing back and forth. bumping up the endpoint value for my aux 2 fixed that.

hmm. I use the governor menu in my 12fgh. Its set to percentages. I use the same governor radio set up for my align governors and do not experience this problem. Other than the governor the differences between set ups are my throttle curves. I had it pretty low with atg and I'm wondering what the cut out point is for the governor.

hook up the gview and go to the screen that shows the head speed when gov is on. turn gov on in your tx and observe the value on the gview. if it says steady this is probably not the same issue. but its easy enough to check.

also, if at any time your t curve comes below 25%, the gov will turn off in that range.

Thanks. I've already seen that its steady. We'll have to see, if the governor works tomorrow or, if I'll be mounting an align governor.

That is what I'm thinking is happening. Will my throttle curve cause this? Or will it happen, even if I had 100 across the board?

100 across the board should keep it on. 25% on your t curve is where it cuts on and off at. 25% on t curve = on/off switch for gov.

Are you sure it's not just backing the throttle off to keep you from overspeeding? If I recall, you can set the low throttle point in the ATG (or other Curtis product) to prevent it from going so low, if that is indeed the case . . .

It is backing off the throttle to keep from overspeeding, but it sounds like its to the point of turning off. You could hear it rev up the motor and then slow down when unloading a head. It sounds like a chattering sound when its doing this. I did try to set the atg to keep it from going so low, but could not get it the way I wanted that way.

However, today I did manage one flight with the heli. We had high winds. My idle up throttle curves are a V with the midpoint at 50% throttle. I did not hear the governor cutting in and out and the people taching my head speed said it floated from 1980 to 2100 and I was only doing figure eights. This heli has not flown since last year and I see more things I need to do to it, but otherwise, I can live with that headspeed and the governor not cutting out any more in idle up. Before, my idle up throttle curves had a midpoint in the lower 40s. I did nothing more to the governor before flight than to reset it to factory specs and set the top and bottom limits on the throttle. The end points in my radio are at 100 percent in both directions. It was that before when I had the problem. So, it appears the idle up throttle curve did have an effect on the governor at midstick. I'll know more as I get more flights on it. I'm still not certain that I'm totally happy with this governor. But, I'll keep flying it, if it gives me no more problems.
