Exactly what receiver do you want to use?

What TRANSMITTER do you have? Your question has no answer unless we know that bit of info.

If it's a Spektrum or JR 2.4 GHz system, there are zillions of 450s flying very well on the AR6100/6100E, AR6110/6110E. The "E" version is more popular due to the end-pin configuration. If you have any of those, go for it.

Sorry about that I was mobile... I am using a JR9303 with an AR6100e. I am using the same in my 250 as well but was more concerned with range as the 250 you wouldnt really fly it that far but the 450 being larger you can fly farther. Thanks for the answers guys,,, Polo

I have flown my Trex-450 with an AR6100e to just about out of site - seriously "way up there" for a long auto which I can 'try things out' with on the way down. No problems.

If I'm buying new today though it's the AR6115e -

Your 450 will be real tiny if you fly it out of range of the 61xx receiver. If you have to buy new, consider the DSMx version if you have aspirations to fly in giant gatherings of flyers, Otherwise, the 6110e is great.

I heard the AR6110 was having issues but is quite a bit smaller. I think the 6100 is rated at like 600ft-700ft? Thanks for the replies guys... Polo

Much more than 600-700 feet. As I said, if you fly the 450 till it's out of radio range, the 450 is gonna be REAL tiny.
