OS is like toyotas you repair instead or replacing so you have same motor longer so OS increased price I'll pay for OS quality and dependability even if a bit more money

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

Diesel fuel cost $3.89 here in California. Wait and see what happens when it hits $5/gal next summer.
No need to wait.
Just read back a couple years when diesel was $5.50 and straight gas was $5.40 or more.

It was a mess and I was driving farther to work than ever before or since.

The USD has been the world currency a long time but it is dieing fast.
Super scary crazy fast.

When the USD is no longer the world currency, the U.S. will be a third world country in less than three years.
Other countries are already losing interest in dealing with the U.S..

I literally never use the word literally right.

Ha you want to see gas prices surge! Wait couple of weeks, with the people uprising in the middle east the price is going to jump. I am happy for them that they are freeing themselves , this is from the people and not some outside implemented BS it's the only way, maybe the world will wake up now instead of feeding these regimes just because of the greed for oil, the money never made it to the people anyway, so yes things are going to even get more pricy! ou guys haven't noticed that everything is going up.
Food, clothes, gasoline but unfortunately not your house.
Just wanted to add, as well as people houses not going up, neither is people's take home pay. It's gonna cost $20,000 a year just to be homeless in this country.

On the topic of OS prices, I do concur that OS hypers were selling for $189 regularly baring any sale pricing or individual stores lower than average pricing. I would definitely say that electrics are making a big impact for OS, maybe they should get into the electric market!

209.99 in 2006 from my order history at tower.

Today, its $189 at Tower. Sounds good to me.

The heritage of that bearing is one of their ultra high rpm .21 car engines (same part #). I would guess that bearing is of a higher spec than the one used in the 50/55's.

it's always been like that for parts out of japan, i once read that a $10,000,00 yamaha FJ1100 if bought one part at a time would cost something like $200,000,00 dollars !

But in the end O.S. can't justify why their .37 costs $175 when their .50 Hyper is selling at $210. The .55 HZ sells for about $300 which is the same price as their old .70 SZ engine.
I don't know if you ever seen or done casting or machining work for engines between .19 and .91
BUT
The labor involved IS THE SAME as both have the same number of parts and all must be kept to the similar tolerances to yield a CONSISTENT product. The material diference is little to the cost.

The cost of R&D is reflected in the first productions runs, and $ goes down as numbers go up.

Putting aside $ vs Yen, oil prices, middle east conflicts, and other world events that make the world economy volatile, what you are paying is reasonable.
If you adjust for inflation starting on what an OS cost in the 70s, you should smile at the prices.

I HAVE MID 1970s OS ENGINES THAT STILL START WITH 1-2 FLIPS!
