Maybe I missed something but is the ele and ail gain controlable by adjusting end points in radio or do you have to use the pots on the control box ? What is a good baseline for the pots reguardless of where gain control is adjusted at ?

gain is controllable with the pots within a specific range, and more so with the programmer. Radio travel only sets flip and roll rates with a max rate set by the programmer.

Ideally you want to do some basic mods to the defaults to reduce overall lock gains on A/E and boosting overall gain. Most it is covered in Leon Luke's post on bottom of this page https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t612388p11/

Most of the new sensors are coming already "gooped" so you do not need the load'o'silicone that Leon shows

PM me if you have any questions. I have modded a handful of the 3G units, and am currently flying my 60N, 500 and 450 airframes on 3G with pretty good results

(700N and 700E on TotalG, 550E on SK720)
