You need to move somewhere colder during the winter months, so you don't get to fly as much. Fuel lasts much longer

It lasts longer in the winter, but I sure burn a lot in the summer. Making up for lost time and trying to beat the next winter!

You guys gotta get it by the skid, delivered to a business address. Our club does it and it cost us 20. but you gotta get 48 gallons I think. 12 cases.

High cost of fuel

There is a way around the high cost of fuel, and that is different engine, or larger engine. At the moment,I am working with a Rossi 65 on tuned pipe, and header. It is a little work to get the header to the correct length but when you do that Rossi really wakes up big time. The mid range is not bad, but took some messing with. I'm using 15%. The high cost of fuel is a real pain. Nitro of course is expensive, and why europe and other places used to use fai fuel(0%nitro). Their engines are designed around FAI fuel and is why you need to shim the head for 30%.

OH yeah, YS is another engine that needs a pipe to produce mega power.

I didn't think Cool Power sold direct even for a full skid.

same here switched to magnum DS about $22 a jug if you order 3-8cases shipped..you could save more by ordering more than 9 cases.
if you have a dealer close by you could get a better deal on it..depending on your dealer.

So far i've run about 50gals of the DS on my YS engines with no problems and I've got the new glide bearing in one of them from magnum with 84 flights on it. This is nice not having to worry about Rear bearing Falure..

First I've heard of this. I tried their website but no info on link. Can you elaborate on what the glide bearing is?

I know that the shop I go to only charges $23 per gallon... With the volume that they move it keeps fuel nice and fresh. I have found that working with the local shops and trying to help keep them open is more important but it has to be a win win. They can't greatly over price items.
While others have changed fuel manufacture I find it easier to just stick with what I know works great and has a large following. I want the most consistent fuel I can get.

I am only going by what it says on that link. $50 for first set, $35 for any other sets you buy. On this link it says they are warrantied for a year, on another link it said they had a lifetime warranty. Do you know what it is that makes them different from other bearings? Here is the link that says lifetime warranty.

That was the old bearings that were regular ball bearing type. This is not the same, for the Glide bearing.. lifetime warranty no matter the fuel.. Info should be up soon.

That wasn't the price that was spoken of.

if its life time guarantee why would have to pay 35$ for a replacement?

Gmpheli, that is an old link those prices are not for the new glide bearing system.. there is no replacement cost no fuel guidlines for the new system.

Just have one installed and run it. Call Buzz at Magnum for any additional info on it.

I'm going on nearly 100 flights with no issues. I know that a standard bearing will not go that long under 3D conditons.

Thats about 4.5 cases of fuel I may have more but I know the minimum is 4.5 cases.

If those bearings have a "true" lifetime warranty, and really work, then I have got a whole range of engines here, ready to be upgraded.

The biggest pain with our helies, is not changing the bearings in the engine, but having to pull it out, remove the clutch/fan combo and then on re-install having to dial indicate the whole assembly again is quite time consuming and fiddly.
Getting the engine centered into the heli can be another pain and might take a couple of goes.

Compared to aeroplanes, ours is still painful.
