I took the double end ball link ends MA # 0113 and mounted to the front canopy mounts... canopy now slips on and off fast and easy. Robbed the parts of my Razor so was real cheap too

Should work fine as long as you don't fly backwards real fast.

flew backwards really fast yesterday and got one side to pop off but other side stayed on and all was fine.. added carbon fiber washers to each side (made from the left over extra height servo spacers) and now is really snug. Could also put a little piece of fuel tubing over end if you wanted to but not needed IMO and starts to defeat the purpose (idea was to make it real fast to get on and off).

Have you considered an rc booya mount?

cool idea, I would hate for it to pop off in flight though!

Several years ago, due to high speed backwards flight, many were replacing the rear 'pop on/off o-ring' system with thumbscrews like on the front. At that time it was the only way to prevent 'pop offs'. There must be a lot of air going into the canopy when doing that.

yes.. I think they are cool but too much $ IMO.. $45 for some canopy standoffs? Might pay $20 but $45 no way

Update

The good guys at RC Booya sent me just a front set (all I think you need) for a good price... will try for next couple weeks and report back but I think I like my "cheapy" setup better and there is NO risk of it coming off in flight IMO...follow up forthcoming

my follow up report on Booya versus my quickrelease

Having tried the Booya mounts for a while I have to honestly say I like my setup much better. I started to develop a little spider cracking around the front mount holes that might be attributed to the metal to fiberglass connection with the Booya system. Also the Booya mounts were a little tough to get aligned properly... maybe if the were a bright color it would help with alignment. 90 plus flights and have had no canopy fall off in flight with my system. I like not having any pieces to remove and or lose and being able to quickly remove replace canopy for battery changes. Definitely use the carbon shim I mentioned and it works like a charm
