lol, figured I would just start it up.

Ok, got 5.1.6 upgraded, no problems with the upgrade, easy.

Setting up the governor, when I plug in my GV-1 sensor, the "Magnet" indicator in the VBar software lights green, but all the time, not just when I'm over the magnet with the sensor. I've tried two different working GV-1 sensors, using Sensor II Port, any suggestions?

Solved: The "Magnet" led in the software will light whenever the sensor is installed, and will turn off when the magnet is sensed, my sensor just needed alignment.

Just a tip, when setting up the throttle servo / esc in gov setup II using the collective channel make sure you have a linear pitch curve or else this will be effect the setup.

I'll say this here as this caused a headache on a new setup awhile back.

If you are using the backplate sensor, it will more than likely need to be spaced off the backplate 2mm or more because it picks up more than the crank pin. This caused multiple pulses and incorrect rpm readings (by alot).

Also, If you are using the YS 91 sr 3ds, it has a steel liner inside the backplate. the all aluminum backplate must be installed to use the backplate sensor.

Good luck guys, this should be a fairly painless transition for you.

Ok, got it setup, seems pretty easy, but am I supposed to see my requested RPM listed here or are these only running values?

Requested RPM should show.
Your preset channel is low so your not having governor active, that's why no requested RPM showing.

Aha! Thanks, MrMel

I had to reverse my governor channel in my 8FG, it now shows an RPM range.

From the 8FG governor menu using channel 7 and an 8.33 ratio:

84.5% = 1655
87.5% = 1800
90.5% = 1943

The ranges are rather tight, is this what you guys saw in testing?

if you want greater differences in percentages, up your max headspeed value (your percentages in the radio will determine what headspeed you want)

Thanks, sandtrx, just wanted to make sure that was normal before I flew it the first time.

Pretty easy so far, next up: first flight!
