It can be done. Go into the Timer menu.Go to the Start/Stop SW.
Set the switch to J3 (Throttle stick). Move the stick slightly off the bottom and hit the enter button. Now hit the reverse button. The only time the timer will stop now is if you drop the throttle stick all the way to the bottom of the gimbal.

You can get the timer to be controlled by the stick only in NORMAL mode too. Here follows how I did it:
  • First follow kcordell's description above.
  • Go into the Timer menu and press the "Start/Stop SW" left button.
  • Make sure the "Gr." button on the right is selected (red) for all your selectable idle ups.
  • Set idle up NORMAL before pressing the "Gr." button on the right and answer "Yes" at the prompt so that the button changes to "Sngl". Now we have made the control setting for the timer an individual one for NORMAL mode (with the programming per kcordell's instruction).
  • Set any other idle up than NORMAL.
  • Press the NULL button.
  • Press the "ON/OFF" button and select "ON/OFF Setting" "ON" in that screen. As all idle ups except NORMAL are linked to use the same setting we now have set them to keep the timer running always in those idle ups.
  • Press "Close" to exit the Timer button settings and return to the timer menu.
Now the timer should be controlled by the stick only in NORMAL and be on permanently for all other idle ups.

In the timer menu, when you click on the Start/Stop SW, which you have set for J3, on that next menu that shows all of the sticks and switches, over on the right side is the Group/Single button. Group puts everything together and single puts it on the current flight mode only.

Have you updated to 1.6? This feature isn't available until after that update.

It is actually very easy. Nice detailed instructions on the Futaba website. It will either accept the update or not, won't leave you hung up in the middle.
Not sure how it would affect you being in the Philipines, where did you purchase your radio?

I am pretty sure that firmwares provided by different regional agents are all the same.

Of course I can't guarantee anything but my T14MZ was bought in Hong Kong and I have used firmwares from the Belgian, British, Swedish and US agents all without problems. For one version I binary compared British, Swedish and US archives of the same firmware and they were all equal. Today I upgraded to version 1.6.1 that came late last year and I used the US agent's firmware archive, works fine.

You wont have any problems updating using the firmwares from the website. Just make sure your batts are fully charged before you do the update!
