[B]Hello,

My friend Alfie ask me to mount, make a penta blade head, and detail an HeliArtist MD500-E fuselage with Align T-Rex 250 SE.

Alfie lives in Kansas, he is a former police man from the Illinois police Department, so he want for the project the paint scheme of the Police helicopter ( in the pics).

The details are:
HeliArtist unpainted fuselage MD500-E
Align T-Rex 250 SE mechanics
Align 3G or Flymentor 3D stabilizers ( need to test both)
My custom made rotorhead and blades.
Lot of scale details, like open doors, antenas, search light...

...I started to work in the blades.

In my first penta head for T-rex 250 I used stock plastic blades, just cut the tips and paint...but, do not like because the wide chord of the blades, to much out of scale.

Can see in this video...

Watch at YouTube

Note how the blades ruim the project.

But there is no scale blades for 250 size to buy, so I decided to make my owns, or better...modify the ones I have.

I took the platic blades from Align and draw a new shape with narrow chord, this improve the scale appearence, less drag and weight.

After cut I will sand to remake the shape of trailing edge of the blades, then balance and paint...

Hi Coptercptn,
Indeed is a great flyer, the Align 3G helps a lot...

Note that in the first one I had n otime to do more test, even in outdoors, the owner was too busy and prefer to test later.

This one I will do more test and better and longer flying video, with lot of details of the build too.

Keep the info coming we, or I, may learn something.

...today I finished the blades, I sanded the trailing edge carefully to remake the shape after cut...

Before cut the blades the weight (each) was 10,2 grams, after cut to the new format the weight now is 9 grams, litle difference in weight, but with the reduced area the drag is now 15% less...

The set is balanced and ready to paint now...

...another progress today !!!

Start mount the mechanics, first fixing the wood base plates that come with the fuselage, this leave the frame at the right height inside the body...

I will use the Align 3G to stabilize the penta head...note the sensor position at the rear lower end of the frame...

Tank you That is for sure I will be following it.

I am scratch building a agusta 109 for my 250 and I was thinking of making a 4 blade rotor head for it.

Hello Helibuff,

Make the four blades rotorhead for your Agusta is easy, you will see..

Maybe Saturday I will post that part, I will make in a very simple design, worked nice in my first one.
