Hi guys. I am just passing this info on. A movie director contacted me through my club and asked if I (or some other pilot) would be interested in working on a Charlie's Angel movie they are shooting in Miami. They need a cool looking, larger size, non-scale heli with a camera for the job. The script is that the Angels maneuver the heli up to a building to take a movie of their suspect. The heli would be flying off, and landing back onto a yacht. They prefer electric to avoid the engine's smoke.
They need this badly and A.S.A.P. They plan to shoot first week of March.
I cannot do it 'cause I only have scale helis, they want the pod-and-boom look. Also, I reckon that being by the coast in Miami it's going to be windy, so a quicker more responsive heli is the way to go.
As I said at the beginning, I am only a bona-fide messenger, I have no relation to these people, I am only trying to help them out.
Anyone interested please shoot me a line and I'll give you their contact info.
Cheers.

I wish I had the gear.

Lets see now.
Your name may be on the big screen

In order to look authentic, you may have to do a little stick training for the actresses. they will not be flying just pretending. they may keep you on also as a technical adviser.
They may do some closeups of the heli taking off and hovering where ever they want, then bring it back down.
Also may do some audio recording or it spinning up and down and hovering, to be added later, to reduce surrounding traffic and wind noise at the film site

The actual movie or photos, will probably be done by their crew, not the camera on board the heli, does not have the resolution.
Basically it's a prop.

this may take a few days, you may walk out with enough money for a few more heli's.

Word of advice, be prepared for hurry up and wait, hours and hours of prep time to shoot a few seconds of scene.
Also the heli cannot look beat up, has to look pristine

Been to a few movie shoots, in the past.

Have fun who ever gets the job

WOW... This is probably the post I have ever received so many responses and PMs in such a short while

As I said at the beginning, I have nothing to do with this movie's producers, I know nothing - as Schultz would say - I have only tried to be a conduit.

I have PM'd back all of you who contacted me with the producer's info.

It looks like a nice gig, but then again we all "know" the movies industry. Takes a special "talent" to fit in

Good luck to all.

Dont count on that. I just did some flying for the sci-fi channel in october. When i asked about credits, they said its up to the producer or had to be bargained into the deal ahead of time. But i had no experience in this stuff so they got me on that Anyways, it was fun. And there is definately a lot of waitind and downtime between shoots
