The reason y i use the term grown up pilot. i see member here talking to other with no regards. let me wonder how old are some of these critics

any way 6 and half year go a friend from india send me a youtube video with alan szabo flying' i could not believe what i was seeing" i started telling him that was not real it was fake b-cause no heli can fly like that so i bet him $100 buck to bring that reality. a few month later we went to los angles i saw a lady selling some rc heli they they were 4 channel squad blade this was my first time seen a rc heli. so i buy it

next day i went the park to fly" it did not work as i no nothing about the stick movement. turn off the radio did not unplug the heli that was my first rc mistake all most burn up my car', to make a long story short.
xheli come in play i buy 3 heli form em they never work they refuse to sell me a 4th one they tell me go learn to fly and gave me a esky simulator after 5 min practice on the sim i' av just learned what the stick does, so i took the xheli helicoptor to helihobby so they could make em fly,

they told me they do not work on those heli. then they sold me my first trex 450 se the heli was a $1000 + 350 for dx7 i was not happy about the spending as i was not sure if it another lemon hel. the guy tell me no worry this heli will fly. and yes indeed. i get to hover i was so happy i buy another heli 3 day later. then my buddy download realflight g3 for me. we went the apollo field and i saw berth fly the raptor 90 3d in person. my buddy tell me i need my $100 buck

3 year later my first inverted flight,

I was waiting on some honey but there aren't no Queen bee,

I've been in the hobby 5 years now

My wife and I were in a hobbyshop in Mass.
I saw the Kyosho Caliber30nitro kit and said to my wife, I want one of those.
4 months later on x-mas morning my wife gave me a big box all nicely wrapped. I had no idea what it was and my first thought was a crappy Dewalt tool kit for my construction job.
Needless to say and I still vividly remember that morning. I started tearing the wrapping paper off and the first thing visible was the pic of the tail rotor on the box. I was happier than a pig in $hit.
I had no clue about helis but learned from RR and HF.
I had no help and no sim but managed to learn all hovering points then onto forward flight and mild aerobatics.
After 1-1/2 years of learning flying and learning more I became sponsored to be a field rep for Kyosho.
I represented for three years and it ended due to Kyosho not pushing there line of helis and my having a new addition to the family that cut my flying time down considerably.

The first video I ever watched was Jason Krause doing a demo. His flying totally blew my mind and the inverted auto at the end was just plain out awesome.
My first time attending an all heli event. I watched Scott Gray, Kyle Stacy, and Benny's son Justin fly and other great pilots at the NE heli jamboree. Justin was only 4 years old at the time. That was mind boggling in a great way.

Paul, you really should keep your snide remarks to yourself.

snide ramarks really who started this
maliciously derogatory; supercilious. i make a thread i want no one to come in attack me or other in a friendly way base on what we think about the thread. in this life everyone don't speak read and write the same way. a one have to be careful what they are saying to other it can be friendly to you but the other party may see it differently.

any way my friend you did good today you get straight to the point
5 year not bad i like your story. you were at the funfly when justin fly the 700 that kid knock me off my feet man.

I saw the alan vid back in 07 while I was still flying planks. We had a couple of guys who flew helis and one could even do some inverted stuff, but nothing like Alan. I was in awe. Got a 450SEV2 shortly after that and crashed it. It sat on the shelf for over a year and I rebuilt it when I got a less time demanding job 2 years ago. Now I can do 1/4 of the stuff Alan was doing in that video and am loving every minute of it!

Edit: I'm not doing that stuff anywhere near the ground though. Too dang expensive!

High Voltage just works better

I first saw a heli do 3D on a vid in 04-05, it was advertising a Trex 450 and at the beginning of the vid it said "As flown by the Szabo brothers!"

Ide love to find that video again! I sent it to my mate and he said it must be on strings!

My first helicopter was a Walkera 22E that my wife gave me for my birthday in spring 07. I don't have to discuss how much counseling and medication it took to get past that experience but it was such a cool thing for my wife to do after hearing me lament over rc helicopters. I still have it sitting on a shelf. It never flew more than a handful of times but it remains as a reminder of what started it all.

First vid I ever saw was "Insane RC Helicopter" on Youtube. One of those Szabos doing unholy things to a Raptor. I can't imagine what it would be like to have a Tareq vid be the first vid a person sees.
