just wondering if the tt gear problems have been solved? That is if there was a problem to begin with or just requires meticulous set up. Do I need some sort of "gear puller" May go for broke literaly and use mks ds95's on cyclic. Not sure about tail servo yet. OH it will have a beastx like my others

Just go for it man! Just take a little extra care when assembling the TT and gear assy and you'll be fine. The Rave 450 is an awesome little machine and flies beautifully. I love mine!

Agreed, go Rave!
I have roughly 650 flights (43 hours of hard flight) and two in flight tail gear failures due to my error. I fly GOV mode 3100 RPM and like to get on it a bit. The two failures I had occured early in the flight on a hard pitch pumps. I have noticed some manufacturing variance in mesh between the main tail gear off the main shaft and the transfer gear at the base of the umbrella gear. My crashes were due to laziness on rebuild. Got to pay attention to all three points of meshing. . On a rebuild if I notice the gearing is loose on my main gear to gear at base of umbrella I add washers like this. It's not always necessary but easy to do. A little extra attention on rebuilds rewards you with one of the smoothest TT tails available. This thing spins for days!

Notice silver washers

I have a 4S 350 Beastified Rave and it is one badass little heli.
Stable yet nimble at the same time while feeling like a 500 size machine in the air.

Go for it....you wont be disappointed.

I have two 4s raves, they are easily the best flying 450s I have ever flown, and I have flown them all. and the TT gears is not really an issue, the only times I see them fail is when the tail gets tangled up in the grass.
