Please answer why minair decided to sell parts at numerous locations, as opposed to just out of Billings?

Quite simply, it's a different business model. Just the way Dell, Apple, and everyone else has their own business model.

Thanks ace for a reasonable answer.

I was thinking they were relate-able in this "niche" market.

Believe me, I understand differing business models, and know they have a good grasp on their product line.

Ill continue to support happily RH and mikado, just trying to get my dose of understanding for the day.

Mikado products were formally distributed in the USA by AeroModel and Mikado products were available from several resellers. Several years back things changed and RH became the new exclusive distributor for Mikado products in the USA. If you do a search I'm sure you'll find some posts on the subject. Many folks were very happy when that change was implemented.

Yeah I was just going to give a little history after I got out of my meeting.

4 years ago Mikado was imported and distributed by Aeromodel (who also imports Hacker). Aeromodel sold to many dealers in the US including local hobby shops and online retailers alike.

However Aeromodel did a very poor job marketing and supporting the brand and as a result the brand did not flourish in the US. There was also an altercation between ReadyHeli and Esprit Model as both Mikado dealers at the time that I will not go into detail about.

Eventually the job Aeromodel was doing made it back to Mikado corporate in Germany and they pulled the plug. Mikado then traveled to the US personally and visited several major retailers to interview them looking for the new sole US distribution. After the Aeromodel experience they wanted to select and entrust their brand to one company in the US who they hoped would do an outstanding job.

The good news is Mikado selected a good company because ReadyHeli does more Mikado business in one month than Aeromodel did in an entire year! Compare how many Logo helicopters you see today vs. 4 years ago!

Rig you wanted your daily understanding, so there you go!

Of course, we also have much better batteries and chargers than we did four years ago. The increased growth of electrics have also increased the popularity of the Mikado line. No doubt RH made a good decision to carry the line and grow the brand all while providing excellent customer service.
