Why 120 Swash

Why are you guy's after a 120* swash, 140 has less interaction and 90* has basically none the down fall being only 1 servo for elevator control?

Just for radio comparability or something I am missing?

Other wise looks like the old 550 which is good news for parts support for original E550/620 owners.

I bought a set of X50 Landing Skids - in the hope of installing them easily on my Raptor e550, to save some weight.

First of all the X50 Skids are really small and low compared to the Raptor ones.

The holes of the X50 Skids do not match with the skid-holes from the Raptor.

The old Raptor canopy clip fits more snuggly on the skids compared to the black X50 one.

So - I decided to stick with the heavy original Raptor landing skids.

Just wanted to let you guys know - since I'm sure some of you are looking for weight reduction ideas, as well.

Looks like the frames are spaced more, better for LiPo choices.
If you want lighter skids with minimal mods use T-Rex 550/600 skids.

824TSV said they just bolted on his Heli with no problems. Are the inner holes on the X50 skids centered at 54mm.?

Don't Fit??

I bought this skid set from Tower Hobby in January. Their part#TTRE2008
Thunder Tiger Landing Skid Set R30/R50/ Titan SE/X50. I had no issues with installation what so ever. They work fine, I never noticed the difference in size.

I had the wrong spacing, it should be 57mm.

If you look at the photos on page 1 of this Topic, you'll see that the E550 has the original upper frame and servo tray with a different shaped side frame. But that has to be an X50 skids on it.

TT made it fit somehow. The redesigned e550 is a concept helicopter (that had to get ready for the Nuernberger Toy Fair).

and I'm not so sure any more if this chopper will really go into production.

On the pictures on page 1 TT is using the old canopy clip to make it fit on the X50 Skids. I tried to fit them on - but it doesn't fit properly!!!

Everybodys eyes are fixed on the e720 and TT is not talking at all about the "new e550"

I think you're right. What's funny is the X50 Torque Tube has been out and I haven't heard anything about a build. And the G4 and E720 should be on pre-order end of this week or next.

If the x50 skid is also for the nitro raptor series, then it will fit the e550/e620. I am using the same skid for the nitro and electric raptor.

Here's 2 pic's of the skids installed on my E550. Just to quell the doubters.

Well, I can see that you spaced the side frames out.
