When I bought this fuselage from Dangel at skyhunterhobby, we have to find a way to fit a converted trex 700 electric mechanics into this 65" fuselage. This fuselage was made for a trex 600 belt drive but the fuselage was heavy and we wanted to adapt a torque tube drive into this project using the existing mechanics from the original torque tube drive of the airframe of a 700. I asked the owner of skyhunter hobby for help.

We started with a century gear drive normally used for flex drive system.

and this is what skyhunterhobby came up with. You'll notice that he used one existing part of the tail from the trex 700.

Cool mod. Did you use the original wood kit for the vert stab, or something different?

All helis and planes have an expiration date stamped on them...you only find it after you crash!!

The original wood kit for the vert stab was removed and something different was used as shown on the picture.

Here is the test flight video and I apologize for the poor quality of the video. Seems like the torque tube drive system is holding up solid. I hope there will be no problem at a later time but i'll keep you posted.

OK, all I saw in the pic was a section of rex 700 boom tubing, but didn't see anything it may have been bonded/fastened to in the vert stab. I noted that the front was supported by the custom boom clamp, but couldn't see any support in the rear. Maybe I'm just missing something

The tail section going up is held by sandwiching the boom with the 2 pcs. Of wood and tail Fuse elevated with screw going thru the boom to secure it. I will take some photo when I get a chance to remove the tail cover.

10-4 makes perfect sense. Judging by the flight vid, it's a stable flyer. looks great in the air! Good job
