Why bellcranks??? I measured my 700E 3G bellcranks and my 700N that i converted to fbl and they are the same measurements. I get the same travel on both.

The 700E has two holes. The inner being used to give you less mechanical gain, enabling you to increase electronic gain, and get more resolution out of the servo.
As for the pink, Dino started this post, and since we are reps, we can't do that, good info or not.

But what i am saying is the outer holes on the 700E are the same distance and travel as the Nitro so you dont really have to change the bellcranks as long as you are getting enough resolution out of your servos which you can do by moving in towards the spline on your servo horn.

Weird then. Just measured the E and the inner hole is about 10.5, the outer hole being at 12.5. Then I measured the nitro, and it is at 12.5 like the outer holes on my E. You would want to use the inner holes, same effect as moving the balls in on the servo. I did that mod long ago, it helped but didn't quite go far enough

Moving in on the servo horns/wheels sometimes allows the balls to foul the servo case, as well as making your rods further from parallel.

If your servos are right on the borderline of not having enough torque, go in on the servo horns to gain some mechanical advantage.

If you're using adequate servos (which most of us would be) it's best to use bellcranks & "A" arm with a closer hole spacing like the 700e ones.

Personally, I'm using the 700e bellcranks & "A" arm (Lower section only) with great results.

But if you buy a new 700n FBL kit the elevator arm and the bell cranks are the same as a FB kit. From the looks of it the E parts look machined out for weight savings. Is there really a geometry change or are the parts modified to fit with the short main shaft that is in the 700E kit?

OK,,,so if I'm setup for FBL with the stock main shaft,,,,,if I put in the FBL main shaft,,what other adjustments do I need to make?

Do I need any other parts/upgrades to make this switch?

I'm assuming that the swashdriver will be a lot closer to the headblock. The only other adjustment I see would be the blade grip linkages to reset 0 pitch,,,yes?
Is there enough adjustability in the FBL linkages to make this happen?

Thx

Randy

PS,,,this is a 700N I'm going to build. I was just going to install the FBL main shaft from the git-go!

Yes. Check the linkage, it might work. I used Lunsford turn buckels insted of the stock ones.

FYI

I just received the Newly Design Head with integraded driver and MAN IT IS NICE. "No more trying to get the phasing perfect". I also got the shorter main shaft from the 700e. Can't wait to fly it.

Sweet I am picking up my new head block tomorrow. Just wish my short shafts would get here. I messed up my stock wash out unit by tightening the clamp bolt to tight. It took out the bearings in the arm and was causing huge binding.

Also nice wire job on your 700, I did mine almost the same as yours, are you using the vbar gov?

Has anyone tried short balls on the outter ring of the swash when using all the other fbl bellcranks and short shaft?
