Got my kit today and it is beautiful so far.
Right now I am taking everything apart and applying thread locker.

Started with the swash plate.
Ain't it purdy?

Main rotor head.

Whats that round thing on top of the head

I think it looks soo much better without it, I used a short bolt with one of the specialty washers

You will also need to remove it to set the pitch before long... Dont over tighten it, can strip-out easily...

I ditch them completely. Had more than one come off in flight taking a juicy chunk out of a blade.

Besides, they are a newb thing you wont want to be seen as a newb would ya ? lol.

Onya mate, keep the pix comming.

I actually use the rotor button to stop the head.
I can also go ahead and thread lock it.I haven't needed a pitch gauge in a long time.My blades are perfect zero at 50% and track like a razor

This is nuts.
I gotta take a break.
3 hours and it looks like I have done nothing.lol...
I could maiden a Trex 500 in that time

One thing that really slowed me down....I put the clutch hub on and THEN realized the fan goes on first

I have more time taking it apart than putting it together but I gotta see the thread locker.

Im sure ya know about getting that hub darn tight. I usally put a little loctite on the cranck for good measure. Nothing worse than having the hub slip, and having to drop the motor.

Oh yeah.
Learned that the hard way on the Frenzy.
Hub came off and tore a bunch of stuff up.

I dont use the pitch gauge for zero either, but do to dial in the pitch.

trick on the fan after you tighten up the fan hub using the nut for the motor back it off this will take off the preload then tighten the pinch bolts and remove the bolt all together you done this will make sure the fan is on the crank and no preload from the nut to induce runout

I've found the trick of dropping a long hex wrench through the bolt hole in the grip and lining it up dead center of the main shaft to work very well.

I understand there can be different ways to get zero pitch at mid stick without the gauge but... Dont you guys still use it to get you pitch? On my FBL 700 I used the adapter/rod to get my +/-13deg n such. Dont you still need to use it, am I missing something?

That's why I mentioned he might have to remove the button..

All depends on what pitch gauge you use. If you have set zero pitch correctly you can use this digital gauge and don't need to worry about the head button of any other adapter.

I give it all the pitch, both cyclic and collective ,it can take without any binding and then dial it down in the radio til it flys the way I like it.

That said,I'm calling it a night on this one.
