i prefer the hard smackdown flying mixed in with the big open stuff (although the big open stuff is still low to the ground, such as hurricanes)...i like a ratio of about 1.5:1 in the smack:big open

Old-fart nice and relaxed sport flying. I'll add some scale in this year once I finish a couple of projects.

I fly around, do loops, rolls and inverted. Started with tic-tocs and a few other things and then ran out of summer. I am practicing some piro flips on the sim but I really want to do the F3C style. It looks like a lot of fun and some of the hovering manuvers are not as easy as these guys make them look.
I want my flying to look nice and smooth.

Thats pretty much my thinking as well. I'm Never going to compete in any way as far as heli's go so I go to the field and meet up with a few friends that have the same interest as me --- bust some balls--- have a few laughs and maybe --- very slowly--- get better at flying these stinkin helis I would like to do a piroflip someday but am in no rush. I like a long journey instead of a quick destination, so anywho, I'm a "sport flyer" not a Mad "3D spert"

Paul I don't think heli-cuzz comment meant he only hovered.

Some language barriers and mis interpretation I am guessing perhaps.

In my opinion it doesen't matter how fast anyone progresses, whether they like 3D or scale, and if they prefer electric or nitro. Everyone leads different lifestyles, family and careers take a ton of time, and not everyone has sunshine and grass to look at all year either . It is a hobby and the minute you forget that, well it will not be much fun anymore IMO.

As long as you truly enjoy it, that is really all that matters.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Not everyone has the dexterity to fly 3d. As long as they are out of the house and enjoying it is all that matters to most people.

Lots of guys just come out to socialize.

Simmer down Paul ! A little humbleness goes a long way. You are not a 3-D pro

Typically "threads" take on a life of thier own or they don't, nobody "bumps" thier own thread unless its in the classifieds. If you really think you are that good--- then we will see you at the next XFC, otherwise-----------

STR8HUCKIN couldn't have said it better. +1

Some people are just content at whatever level they are at. Perosnally, I want to be able to do everything there is to learn....I like the challenge of learning new stuff...that's what keeps me coming back everytime.

I would consider myself a Sport Flyer....I like high speed passes across the field, high speed banked turns, big loops, stall turns, a few tic tocs, inverted stuff, rainbows, split S's ...just whatever I feel like...just out to have fun and hopefully bring it home in one piece

You're a funny guy.
My helis only hover when the blades are NOT in motion.
In all reality, I stated I go out to FLY and have fun.
FLYING and HOVERING are two different words with two different meanings.
And no I will not post a video cuz I have nothing to prove to you my friend.
I will say, nobody has ever told me my FLYING is boring.

Been flying 10 years and I like to hover, so I suck, you win. But I have fun, and you can't take that away from me.
