12ZH vs. 12FGH

Hi, ive long contemplating on this as to sell off my fgh and purchase the 12zh. Other than its obvious better appealing look, bigger lcd screen.are there any better reasons that the latter is much, much, much worthy?
The 12Z has more program mixing power and some added functionality in the pitch and throttle curve menus. If you are not currently hindered by the functionality of the 12FG (and I doubt that you are), I doubt you'll find the need for the added features and power of the 12Z, superb radio that it is.

The 12Z has much better gimballs, it has 2 CPU's while the 12FG has only one.

The 12FG has 6 trim taps while the 12Z has 4.

I sold my 12FG and my standard radio is the 8FG now, of course you can't compare the 8FG to the 12FG (12FG is an outstanding radio) when it comes to mixes but it's all I really need.

Doug.

P.S. you can compare the two units here: http://www.futaba-rc.com/radios/feature-compare.html

If the 8FG will do all you want, can you justify an extra $1000 for the 12Z ? You have to decide for yourself.

I thought the 8FG has ball bearing gimbals as well?

Seems like I might have to consider spending the extra $$ for the bell and whistle of 14MZ/ 12Z.

Whether the 8FG has ball bearings gimbals or not, they still are not the same as the 12Z/14MZ gimbals. Nothing feels better than the 12Z/14MZ gimbals, however you have to decide if it's worth the extra $$$.

The gimbals in the 8FG are the same as in the 14MZ, but only 1/2 the bearings. They still are very smooth gimbals.

Ok...if they have only half the bearings then they are not the same now are they.

Same gimbal assembly, one less bearing. If you want to get that technical, then yes they aren't the same, but they are just about as nice as the 14MZ and much nicer than the other radios. It not just the bearings that make the gimbal feel that smooth.

Don't know about that, I typicially don't take my radios apart. Too many bad things can happen.

There’s a more then just bearings, the 12Z and 14Z pots are adjustable as well.

Pots in the 8FG are very nice, to me better than the ones in the 10C, but not as good as the one on the 12FG.
