I took the test for the fun of it.

I hit once a .191 but I was anticipating like hell. I used diferent colors, knowing I react to deep oranges or pinks better. My average was .25sec which sucks, but it falls on the main.
Also medical journals and studies measured rection of eye to brain signal to be an average of 150ms.

So here is what the the website you posted stats, Mean falling between .20 and .35sec
BTW you can rule out the 10% on the .00 to .05 as valid. Kid yourself if you believe that stat.

Here is another site with similar stats:
http://www.humanbenchmark.com/tests...ntime/stats.php

Make your own conclusions, mine is anyone who claims discering a .011sec diference visually is out of touch with reality.

I thought that we were talking about the latency for the TX and RX, not our brain. When our brain is done computing and you send the command to the rx, how fast will the servos react? That’s the Radio’s latency.

But who knows maybe I'm wrong

Doug.

Gentlemen, please let me apologize for taking the thread straight to left field.

Here is what I know, faster technology is good. What made the DX7SE a better radio is not the “faster 11ms” response, is that It cut down in half the maximum latency to first and last change at receivers output AND that it offered 2048 resolution. That makes a diference. If you think you have reflexes good enough to dodge bullets (mute point), go head.

What I will like to see is JR bring the better 2.4 technology to the US, which took their time being develop in Japan. If DSM was so great, why did JR decided not to adopt it from the beginning, and kept focus on DSMJ or whatever their FHSS tech is called.

DSM won the initial race, introduced 2.4 and flooded the market. Well done Spektrum. I even used it for several years and still have some models using it. But as the curious cat I am, I have to keep learning and came to my conclusions. There are better, safer technologies offered in the US market. So I switched.

Rumor or not, I still will like to see JR stand on its own AWAY from Spektrum, and see them showcase in the US what seems to be a much better technology to all JR fans, many which happen to be my friends.

If JR was to release a radio with mature and proven FHSS technoloy that happen to be 20ms slower than your DX7SE, but had only 5ms average latency between first and last RX output change, you would be a total fool to say is inferior.

You hit the nail on the head here:
If JR was to release a radio with mature and proven FHSS technology that happen to be 20ms slower than your DX7SE, but had only 5ms average latency between first and last RX output change, you would be a total fool to say is inferior.
As others have said, there are MANY factors that infulence the speed at which a helicopter reacts to input one of which is the time taken to process the stick movement (not just the latency figure), Servo Speed and Torque / On Board Power Source / Head Speed / Paddle Weight / Blade Weight & Blade Characteristics / Servo Arm Length / Head Mixing (if flybar) or Electronic FBL Latency.

In so far as Spektrum, I think you are far more likely to notice servo sync on CCPM than 11/22ms in the air? Just my opinion, I can afford to go and buy a 11ms TX but I don't believe and remain to be convinced I will feel a difference?

Yeah, and each electronic device has its own hysteresis and phase lag, which includes all apsects of the radio itself. When you factor it all in together, you would obtain a true hysteresis and phase lag plot for the entire system...from the time you touch the stick, until the time the heli reacts to your input.

Not sure I would try to calculate in human response. The brain is faster than any heli system. Also, are you well rested? Did you have a fight with your significant other before flying? Are you hungry? Did you just start an exercise program from a long winter of lying around on your butt?

It all makes a difference

Horizon is the exclusive importer for JR for now. Perhaps Circus Circus would like to start importing JR products again. Then we'll see some new JR stuff.

I know this is deep subject but when I did a back to back swap from 22ms to 11ms I did feel the difference . I have been flying the same heli and setup for a long time on 22ms so when I went to 11ms the difference was short lived because I got used to 11ms fast . This was on a flybar heli ,with FBL I didn't notice anything .I feel if you only sport or mild 3d you will prbally not feel a change in flight but in hard 3d where transitions are radical, timing changes as the FB vs FBL debate.

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)
