mckrackin,
I think it is so cute that you are so excited about this build. And rightfully so. It makes me get excited all over again. I remember when I got my 700 in the mail. It was my very first 90 too. I was the exact same way. And when I flew it for the first time it was like a dream. That was a great day. The first flight was flawless and I didn't have to make a single adjustment. It's been a wonderful heli ever since and I prefer to fly it even over my Aurora. You will love that heli. I know I do

The build looks great so far, but may I suggest you relocate your servo leads further away from your gear train? Anyways, enjoy the build and let us in on the first flight! Have fun mister

Believe it or not yes I would rather fly my 700 over my Aurora. Hopefully, that doesn't cause a big stink here. But, maintainence and the overall layout it just easier to deal with on the 700.

I'm sure there are many who would beg to differ, but flying wise, there isn't that much of a dramatic difference in the feel between the two. I think what made the Aurora so special back in the day was the head, but now, with programable FBL heads, the 700 is right on par. I even enjoyed the FB Align head which is just much easier to setup. I can setup any Align head with my eyes closed now. Setting up all the programable settings on the Avant head seemed confusing the first time and I had a heck of a time getting that spindle rubber on the the spindle without tearing it. Some of the hardware didn't fit well either. The mixing base seemed unually tight on the shaft and I ended up having to keep the clamping bolt looser than I'd like it to be just so it would slide up and down smoothly. It's a good machine though, but I still prefer my 700 any day. I've had alot of good flying times with it.

Well after 5 tanks of fuel trying to get the tail dialed in,I've decided that a Walkera gyro from 10 years ago would be better on the tail.lol....

Done now since I busted the tail blades when a recoil from a fast piro stop threw it into a tizzy.

How do I use a separate tail gyro with the SK720 on Spektrum satellites?

I was reading somewhere on here about someone with that same problem and someone pointed him in the right direction and he fixed it.

I think you can use 600 tail blades in a pinch.

+1

600 blades will work on a 90.

Easy... Take the SK720 off completely. Install one axis gyro for yaw and go....

..... NOBAR!!!!

lol....

I just about got it dicked now.
It flys sooooooo much better than anything I've ever had.

I drilled some new holes in some 40mm wheels and used them after stripping all three Align servo wheels.

The clunk came off in the tank after the tubing split. The new tubing with the kit.

Put some 95mm CYB tail feathers on.

Updated the SK720.It was years behind.Must have spent some time in a warehouse.lol...

It's flying great now but the tail gains are kinda low.

If the tail gains are low, you need to use a different hole on the servo wheel. Not sure which way, in or out and I just read that this morning! It sucks getting older!
