I check the pics at Singapore Hobby and I do not think the swash is included.

Rudyy/Gorn,

I doubt it also. Its just confusing because it showing in the Heliproz picture and it also mentioned that 10mm main mast is included.

How about in the SDX kit is the metal swash included?

Swash is included in the SDX D3 FBL kit.

The current exchange rate in the US for the Yen is about 77. You can quickly do the math and see how the US MSRP is calculated.

No where appears to sell the parts for the SSL heads?? Just the whole head itself?

You have already crashed and now need the SSL parts?

No crash yet ruddy (touch wood!), I still haven't converted either of my d3's to FBL yet. Was thinking of just doing the yoke and pitch arms on my SSZ-4 heads. I think the close to $500 for the FBL head even for hirobo is just too much (combine this with FBL electronics, new blades, and possibly Futaba hv servos).

If I did crash the FBL head, it looks like the parts even for hirobo, are impossible to get.

I'm actually surprised hirobo didn't run some promo for existing D3 owners to convert?

The Parts are not impossible to get, we just havent had them arrive yet.
Naturally Hirobo would prefer you bought the whole head, as then it works the way their design was intended.

I do hear where your coming from though.
I will let you know when some stock arrives of what you need.

Part are in-house in Japan and available to distributors. At least one pilot here in the US ordered pitch arms from MRC to convert his SSZ-IV. Frankly, if you're not going to get the whole head, I'd just get the pitch arms and go with it. The IV head block is not at all objectionable as a FBL conversion.

Brendan,

Get just the pitch arms like DrBen suggested and use the Mikado follower (they can be ordered in). I converted mine using the pitch arms and it is working out better then I expected. The D3 was awesome before and words can not describe it after changing to FBL.

414-540

Tim can check his invoice and tell you the SRP. The parts prices aren't in the MRC catalog yet, but that arm should be about $40. The Yen conversion has annihilated the pricing structure for Japanese origin products.

Pitch arms part number is 0414-540.

Aaron, I see where Hirobo are coming from intending us to buy the whole head, however, at $500, (or $473 now up from $400) even being a massive Hirobo fan, I have my limits and that figure is just way out of touch with reality. I have perfectly good SSZ-IV blade grips with V inserts that I don't want to waste on both my D3's.

From a design point of view, the only real difference I can see over the SSZ-IV is the SSZ-V wider spaced grips with the FBL head (I already run the SSZ-V inserts on my blade holders). I already have the swash guide from my FBL RF conversion kit, but may use the Mikado one. If the new FBL head wasn't close to $500, I would definately go the whole hog, but as it is, I think the pitch arm's are the only real must with the yoke/swash follower a nice to have.

The wider grips I don't see as being a deal breaker in the way the D3 fly's.

I posted all the part numbers for the new head a little while ago, but here they are:

0414-541 (new yoke, has a hole under the head button to allow for a piece of wire to go through to aid with setup)
0414-540 (new arms on the grips, need two of these)
0414-542 (centre of the new swash driver)
0414-543 (new washout arms, need two of these)

You will see some video in a seperate thread in the next 24hrs

Aaron, it's now listed at $473 (0414-539) on the perthrc site. I know you guys don't have a whole lot of control over hirobo's pricing though, just ashame hirobo didn't look after existing owners a bit better with some type of conversion deal.

Looking forward to seeing the vid of your beast in action though! Andrew's d3 looks wicked also.

Got some nice flights in down the coast at my home club yesterday, had the place to myself

hmmmm, I will look into that tomorrow.

Nice field Brendo.....do NOT crash on the runway!
My field is padded with very long winter grass for now, its also probably full of snakes already too
Flying on the dry lake through summer is cool, but crashing is like hitting concrete, which is always a bummer lol.
