Not like Jetcat, no governor in the ecu.

The new vbar governor works pretty well on the Wren. I've been using it on my Bergen 44 Magnum for about a month and a half now. It's not perfect, but pretty darn good for a two stage turbine.

I talked to Wren & they don't use govenors on any of their turbines.

That is true, they don't include a governor function with their turbines, but that doesn't mean you can't add one. That's what I did with the vbar governor. With its predictive nature it works very well.

I can't seem to get a specific answer on just how predictive the CGY750 governor is. I've heard that it's basically the same governor as on the 701. If that's the case it will probably not hold well enough on the Wren. I had to do a few adjustments with the cyclic and collective parameters in the vbar to get it to work well. I can't find any adjustments like those in the CGY750 manual.

If I could get a definitive answer on that I would probably give the CGY750 a try.

Mixture

Just want to check my math skills. 6.4 ounces of turbine oil to 1 gallon jet a sound right.

When your tail rotor spun out. Did you have the Metal Vertical Stabilizer Mount or the stock plastic one ?

Trex 700n

Hey guys.
This turbine kit is of interest to me.
I own a trex 700n and 700e.
What's the power like compared to electrons?

The kit does look the goods.
I'm in Australia so this kit would be pretty cool. Maybe a first!
Would you recommend the kit?
I've never had a turbine so got to ask all the questions I guess.

I've never really liked any other turbine kits cause they just look so ugly!

Yr thoughts?
Peter

Trex 700 Wren kit - upsizing

i have acquired a wren 44 turbine and i am just in the process of deciding on the airship to put the turbine in.
I was thinking along the lines of a 800 sized ship - given all this power. i was wondering if anyone had tried the upsizing to 800 blades and the longer boom? just interested to get some feedback / opinions?
thanks
greg

Yep done all that with my Trex844. My machine is nearly 2 years old now. It has roughly 70 hours on it. I used the Align stretch kit and I run NHP 800mm mains and Carbon Tech 120mm tails. CGY750 FBL. Flys a treat. Send me a PM if you need any other info.

Head speed around 1650 and some where around 1750 for idle up. I run HV servos and I'm about to try out the rev limiter function of the CGY750, I see it has a few delay features in the setup of the governer so I'm hoping I won't overwelm the turbine ecu
