Hi,

I'm beginning to find parts for my next helis for next summer (Trex 550). But i'll not buy Align kit wich is too expensive but fusano frames, beastx, tarot parts and upgrades, castle creation cc100, scorpion motor...

I have a problem to find screws to fix servo on the frame into 600 plastic nuts. According to Align notice, screws are selt tapping screws 2.6 * 16mm. I found into my old 500 parts 6 of these screws on 16. So I searched on web, but except Trex 500 screws packet (2 by set wich are to expensive) i didn' find.

Is anyone use other cheap screws for this servo size instead of align one and/or know where i could find ones.

Regards. Stan

Maybe actually add up the cost of all those inexpensive third-party components, then find out what it will really cost to build a 550.

I don't think I've ever found an instance where it's cheaper to build ANYTHING by buying pieces bit-by-bit vs. just buying the kit. It's odd how you can fool yourself into thinking you can save money buying piecemeal.

If u are going to upgrade to cc and scorpion why not protect your investment and use socket bolts and lock nuts. I use 3mm sockets bolts for all servo. Cost for servo $2 buck per servo for bullet prof setup. Why hunt for cheap screws and then use plastic kinda nuts?

How do you get to the locking nuts from the inside of the frame? I was thinking of using some PEM nuts and just drilling slightly larger holes in the frames.

Plastic nuts for hard 3D

Thanks for replies.

I saw for http://www.ronlund.com/rcheli-prod/2537002.html that's why i'm looking for. But the shipping cost are a bit to high for France so i'll waiting to have a lot of things to buy in this shop to take screws at this time.

Thanks a lot.

PS : for screw for metal i don't want them for servos, i had them on Trex 500 and it was not very easy to fix them. For hard 3D i hope plastic nuts can do the job (i have 600 ones)... Am i wrong ?
