So, you want the latest updates to fix the mistakes JR made in the program, you do this because everything seems to work fine, so you may as well screw it up right?

Did EXACTLY what Horizon indicated for the 11X update.. now the transmitter is stuck in a "update in progress" for 30 minutes now.. Im sure Im screwed.... Any ideas?

Hey, can I borrow that?

No reason to call.. they are gonna tell me to send it in.. which is just what im going to do anyway... just sux.. they currently have my 9303 in for repair which is why I bought the 11x, i figured i'd get the 9303 back as a backup.. who knew I'd have both radios down and out..just annoyed at the fact that a simple update went bad although I followed the instructions to the letter...

Hey, can I borrow that?

You're probably right that they will tell you to send it in but what difference does a few hours make ? You might get lucky and they have a solution for you then you don't have to send it. Which version update were you trying to apply?

Why does a new radio need updating? Didn't anyone test this thing?

sgfromny, still call Horizon and let them go through there quick test and then they will put it on your customer file that the 11X is on it's way for repairs.

I've always had excellent service from Horizon. Hopefully they'll sort it out quickly.

+1

Horizon is great for service. At one of the clubs I belong to, there's an 11X owner that has sent his radio in 3 or 4 times so far with no repair charges to him.

Service like that goes a long way.

Futaba.. Always Imitated, Never Duplicated.

Did you buy your 11X from HOrizon? There are 2 firmware versions floating around. 1 for the US market and the second is for the Japanese market. You need to check the code on the back of your TX and get the firmware for that model. I have done mine and its 100%

Terry there's 3 updates.

1 that really applies to us, and that one got by whatever QA they did because throttle trim was active in Idle Up mode.

One is a bug fix for plank stuff (vtail elevator trim only works on one side in GLIDER mode) and the last one lets you use the 11X with other transmitters besides another 11x for trainer.

You have to have a sense of humor if you're gonna fly helicopters or planks for that matter, not IF but WHEN you put them in, you gotta be able to laugh about it. Stuff in the hobby always goes wrong at one time or another..

in a previous post, I refer to a "Post Crash Interview", in the group I fly with, we have been interviewing the pilots on video RIGHT after they crash.. Its actually quite funny to see the emotion and reactions.. its something I started on ambravo, and has taken off within our group.. and YES, i have been interviewed. lol.

A few are out there on Youtube.. they are funny.

Some of the vids are pretty funny, I have seen them, even made one or two for that matter.

SG is right, our little group shows no mercy. There has even been some really good "nick names" derived from "running out of airspeed, (Nr for helis) altitude, and ideas, all at the same time".
