I live in Mason Ohio, rasied since 78'. Anyways, just driving back from the the state store, and pass a cop, he does a u-turn in town and gets right up my bumper, so as Im leaving town I kick it up to 40mph, then 50,(He is up my A$$, VIEWING MY TAGS i THINK)and I flip my mirror back So he is not blinding me, and flip him off through my rear view. As soon as I did this, he backed off, and turned off.

What a dick!! Back in the day(They never messed with us, unless we were in bad shape, then it was a personal trip home to mom and dad's), we as young adults had high rise trucks(778',79,80' built with 42inch grond hogs and no problems( well past the relm of legal), now, if you don't drive a 2013 or better, they are up your ass!!

I headed out of town and broke the speed limit by 5mph, and he pulled off. It's like dude, go after the drunks, fellons, guys with money, Not me, cuz I can't pay you,,, I have a RC helicopter habit............

Oh, I have a mudded up f-150(mud is only from work), street tires, does this make me a redneck or somthing...Damm, I built this town........ Hell yes Im red, and damm proud!!!

I remember all the cops names from the 80's, but these young marine drill sargents we have now are out for blood, or more revenue...

Bet ya wouldnt flip him off if you had an intruder in your house, or if you needed help on the side of the highway and he happened to pass by. Must only show respect when its convenient for you? People that show that kind of disrespect toward someone that would lay his/her life on the line for YOU, disgusts me.

If you only have to bend over once to pick it up it's a good landing.

I respect your opinon, but the dood about freaking wrecked me man. Come flying up on my bumper like it was NASCAR or somthing. Then had the nerve to ride my bumper for several miles like he was drafting me. I thought it was quite unsafe, and rude.

I know, right. That was unsafe, what happens if his brakes had failed?

They show up after the fact to take a report, not to keep you safe. Police are a joke.

It is quite possible that your vehicle matched for a BOLO, and rather than inconveniencing you even more by STOPPING you, he just did a running plate check.

How can someone driving BEHIND you wreck you (unless they bump you)? I just slow down until they can't stand it.

. . . . yea I think I would . . . .
Recently I was verbally assaulted on the way into my place of business on a Sunday. The idiot tried to follow me into my place (closed on that Sunday) after threatening bodily harm. He stopped just inside the door when I drew on him. The police wrote it up to charge ME with felonious assault ! The prosecutor decided to NOT charge me.

Hey, Im all for the police dept. We need them to keep the streets safe. But I don't like how they do certain things, like rushing up on my bumper, Extra bright lights, and on and on. Yeah, I could wreck from this, as Im constintly worried about the a-hole on my bumper, and oncoming traffic coming at me. If you wanna stop and check me out, flip the lights on, and lets dance, but don't crowd me for several miles. just to pull off and do nothing. Purley a power kick in book!!

I'm with you Brian . Some of these doe-doe's wearing badges and carrying weapons today are a pathetic form of protection . Life today isn't what we knew it back in "the day" . I understand that law enforcement has a real crappy job today for the simple fact that they really don't know what kind of goofballs they will encounter from day to day . But on the same token they know the local guys and should really exercise they're business in a appropriate manner . It's all about the money and name they can make for themselves today . The only thing I ever heard about ANY officer acting in that fashion is "what a dick" officer so and so is . And to the kool aid drinkers that think the law is above us and they all should be treated to a donut and coffee everyday , have another cup of kool aid . Because if there's a burglar in my house the only thing needed to be called will be a coroner . CMON

If you're not living on the edge you're just taking up space !

the only time a crime gets solved in my town, is if the sheriffs office is involved. For some reason, we have a LARGE city department, and yet the county still works this town too. Same thing with the city across the river (Ft. Myers). Their cops really aren't half bad either. Ours are just pathetic.
I almost got ran off the road the other day by a cop going by me going at least 80-90 mph on a busy 20 mph business street (2 lane). Couldn't figure out what the deal was. Well I just so happened to end up at the same place he did. There were no less than 8 cars in the parking lot, because the dothead shopkeeper busted an old woman shoplifting some 2 dollar item and got into a verbal exchange with them and called 911.
You'd think it was a murder scene. I talked to one of the witnesses and he just stood there and laughed it was so ridiculous. 10 cops standing around like billy badazzes eyeballing you as you went about your business.
I know there are good cops, ours just don't measure up.

I am not surprised....cops are here for 2 reasons:

1. To write tickets
2. To keep you alive so the government can tax you.

Anything else is just coincidence

I think the biggest problem, like with any large group of people, is that a few bad ones give them all a bad name. To be honest, I don't care for cops usually. I have spent some time in jail, not long, but long enough. So I am not a perfect citizen by any means. But I do think they have one of the toughest jobs in the world nowadays. Like that officer recently who resigned, I believe, after he shot at a car when there was an infant in it. Not much was said of the fact the lady didn't have the kid properly strapped in, was doing over 90 on city streets, almost hit a school bus and repeatedly put herself and that baby in danger. And he has to lose his job over it. I can't say I wouldn't have done the same thing in the same situation, except maybe shooting to kill. I have firearms in my home for protection and carry them to work daily, I work nights in the worst part of town. At home and at work, I always go by the saying if I ever needed to use my gun. "Don't shoot 'til you know he is dead, shoot until he knows he's dead." Being an officer most be a daily struggle dealing with our society and I commend them for putting their lives on the line. I also think, that yes, there are some bad apples, but the majority of them are great people who want to go home to their family at the end of the night, too.

Cops here suck too. Only write tickets, and DRIVE WAY OVER THE SPEED LIMIT!!! Like 100MPH+!!! I barely EVER see one helping a pulled over car.

Now I was on a swing set with my girlfriend when I was 19(36 now) at the school less than 1000 yards from her house, many people walk their dogs there and we would go there almost everyday(no drugs, no alcohol no sex...did that at home)...we had a gun pulled on us by a cop and were told to lay on the ground spread out!!! Nice!!! So I hate cops.

Typical Police

George Phillips, an elderly man, from Meridian, Mississippi, was going up to bed, when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed stealing things.

He phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?"

He said "No," but some people are breaking into my garden shed and stealing from me.

Then the police dispatcher said "All patrols are busy. You should lock your doors and an officer will be along when one is available."

George said, "Okay."

He hung up the phone and counted to 30.

Then he phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people stealing things from my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I just shot them." and he hung up.

Within five minutes, six Police Cars, a SWAT Team, a Helicopter, two Fire Trucks, a Paramedic, and an Ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence, and caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the Policemen said to George, "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "And I thought you said there was nobody available!"

I put the fun in dysFUNctional :)
