Reminder: Taxes Due in 90 Days, You Owe . . .

Dear Average Tax Payer,

The average American works three months a year, WITHOUT PAY, for the federal government.

If you are in a higher tax bracket, you could be spending up to half your life working for Uncle Sam.

And how is your money being spent?

* The Securities and Exchange Commission spent $3.9 million rearranging desks and offices at its Washington, D.C., headquarters

* The refusal of many federal employees to fly coach costs taxpayers $146 million annually

* Washington will spend $2.6 million training Chinese prostitutes to drink more responsibly on the job

Thats just a very small fraction of the waste your hard work goes to pay for.

But if we keep making silly arguments like this we will never get anything done about it. You cant cut that because it would hurt people. You cant cut that because its less than .1% of the entire budget so what good will that do. Or X or Y is a much greater percentage than this. But oh yeah you cant cut those either, thats not discretionary. EVERYTHING needs to be cut. Starting with Chinese prostitutes. And african genitalia washing.

Well heck.

Just notify your congressman to stop all military spending and with draw all military from everywhere in the world so that he can have more money to waste.

I'll agree with the first half Dennis....
The problem is, if they ever really do cut anything, they'll find something else to take it's place. I think the days of us ever having a balanced budget, much less paying down our debt, are gone.

Cutting taxes only means congress gets less money to squander. Gee, that sounds so good, I going to write it again:

"Cutting taxes only means congress will give us a bigger deficit this year".
Congress slashing the budget??? Don't see them doing it. Nickel and dimeing it maybe, but the things that need to be done??? They don't have the guts for it.

Total military spending is a small percentage of spending.

Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security and Income Guarantee programs (welfare, making work pay, earned income credit, etc) are the vast majority of the federal budget. And as entitlement programs, they are on autopilot for spending. The military budget needs to be allocated each year.

Military spending is not what is hurting us. Entitlement programs are

Totally Agree, no matter how small the cut it all helps, just before I retired from a local governement job we went from watching our dollars to watching our pennies, thats how close our local budgets have gotten.
