Hello all
Has anyone hooked up a model avionics throttle jockey revmax and the dx8 with the rpm hooked to telemetry??

I have tried the following. unplugged the sensor from the revmax and with a jst adapter plugged it into the rpm sensor on the telemtry module (dx8) this did show rpm on the dx8 radio when I spun the engine with starter...throttle servo stayed at idle and when I flipped st1 & 2 the throttle servo advanced to full settings as if same as from revmax.... this is all with the engine not running as it is way to cold here....so will using this hookup cause my rpm to rev high when going to st 1-2...if anyone has tried this please post....thanks in advance

yes, I spent some time doing this. Here's what I worked out.

basically don't hook up the power leads to the TM1000. Just need to tap into the signal wire. Then it works great. I've done this with an Align sensor, a TJ sensor and a magnetic backplate Spektrum sensor.

edit: does your TJ flash also when spinning it with the starter? If your DX8 is registering RPM and the TJ is flashing (seeing the sensor pulses) then all should be good to go

hello

jschenck coming off the sensor it appears that the red is connected to black and black to red,,is this correct and then it appears i just solder the signal wire in....does this not create an issue...

yes, that should work as long as you get the + and - right. What I figured out is that the power leads are not needed for the TM1000 since it's already getting power through the RX connection. Just need the pulse from the sensor. I think it's simpler, no need to tap into the power leads.
