Just wondering what happens when you are charging say 6 packs all in parallel, each one at a different starting voltage...

Also, how does the balancer handle this setup?

Seems very risky to me, no?

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

I just got a paraboard from epbuddy.com to charge my trex 250 packs. (6) 3s 850mah on a hyperion 0606i @ 5100mah...works great but i do keep an eye out at all times.

Thanks for the posts.

How they are connected is pretty obvious. The question is if the system is reliable and safe.

IMO its OK to do with newer packs but, as they age and cells get tired bad things can happen with systems that don't monitor each individual pack. My power lab8 can parallel charge two packs simultaneously and monitor each pack individually in case of a faulty cell.

Before my lab pro, I parallel charged with 4 packs at the same time but, as they aged, the charger would fault out do to one of the cells giving funny readings.

In short, yes many do it, most keep an eye on it. Do I trust the system ...NO, Its just a make shift way to charge more lipos and is not safe unless each cell is monitored individually of each pack.
Just my input and opinion. Very good reasons why FMA made a special parallel charging board for the lab pro8, and thats safety!

Cheers,
Raven
